Seeking advice: At present, I'm a (recently) tenured science professor in the USA who makes 2.8 BTC per year. I used to be tremendously motivated to do scientific research. However, after covid hit, and then my sabbatical, I have become less autonomously motivated to write papers that no one reads, or to interact with students who are there for a degree rather than to genuinely learn. Additionally, I', fond of learning about attention, memory, etc. but my field requires DEI statements to publish and all colloquia talks are now diversity based. I'm all about lifting impoverished, less-privileged people, but the woke shit is really becoming problematic to me. Over my sabbatical, I started a gourmet mushroom farm in my garage. Based on my current production output, I should reasonably be able to net a profit of 5.12 BTC per year selling delicious mushrooms to restaurants. I've also been coding since 1993 and am a devout BTC maxi. Help me, void! Should I stick to my tenured professor position and attempt to conjure motivation, or should I strike out and do something I find fun that makes more money, or attempt to balance both? @jack
