RadioMail 1.5.1 just added frequency change support for the VR-N7600, UV-50PRO, and DB50-B mobile radios. Getting email while off-grid is now one tap away. If you care about off-grid capability, these radios deliver up to 50W of power, offering good range and reliability when cell networks fail. With the right setup, these mobile radios aren’t just for voice, they move data too, letting you check and send emails entirely without the internet. image

🚨 Big news! 🚨 The UV-PRO, VR-N76, and GA-5WB radios now work directly with RadioMail to connect to packet stations for off-grid email! 👉 Just update your firmware to v0.7.11 and use RadioMail 1.4.2 Even better: RadioMail handles switching to the station frequency and restores it when done.

UV-PRO , VR-N76 and GA-5WB are now all discoverable in RadioMail via BLE. We're seeing many connection attempts. There is an issue potentially with the data returned leading to session hanging. We're in touch with the firmware engineer to identify the root cause. Exciting times.

🎉 Exciting news! The VGC VR-N76 and its cousin, the BTECH UV-PRO HT radio, are now exposing their internal KISS TNC via Bluetooth. It's fantastic to finally see a sub-$200 radio that can pair directly with your phone for data packet mode! Currently, it uses the Bluetooth Serial Port Profile (SPP), similar to the Kenwood TH-D74/5, which means it can't connect to iOS devices, yet. There's mention of adding BLE support, making the radio accessible like the Mobilinkd or PicoAPRS. We're keeping a close eye on this and have reached out to VGC to offer our assistance. A key feature we’d like to see is the ability to change frequency, as seen in PicoAPRS and B.B. Link. This would let RadioMail adjust the radio to the correct station frequency and switch back when done. Imagine initiating a connection from your phone while your radio sits on a windowsill for the best reception! If BLE support isn't implemented, the B.B. Link adapter could likely be enhanced to support that radio. We've ordered a VR-N76 and will soon be testing it firsthand. Stay tuned! 🚀
