for a long time I’ve literally been too traumatised to talk about this. Having your entire business erased, after building it to an industry leading level over 10 years, is devastating. To have that happen 9 times over 5 years is like being in a hostage situation. Not knowing if you’d wake up the next day with your job still. And everytime they correct their error, they trivialise your suffering with an “oops, we made a mistake”. It’s designed to wear you down. To make you want to leave. To make you suicidal. And it works. Yes, I was going to take meta to court. But that was just as covid started and my remaining income streams collapsed. I went into 10s of 1000s pounds of debt, which I only managed to pay off a few months ago because my grandmother passed away. Saved by my own class privilege, but others aren’t so lucky. Meta is directly responsible for my mental suffering and financial hardships, and one day in the future you will see a headline where they compensate me for this. But I know how the system works. You have to wait for your moment. I eagerly await the success of @reprouncensored in the Netherlands. And a special shout out to @maedbjoy who has been making absolutely moves in advocating for the cause. I’m finally ready to fight again✨

H. R. Giger was responsible for creating the conceptual design of Sil, the alien creature from Species (1995), portrayed by Natasha Henstridge. The Swiss artist brought his iconic biomechanical aesthetic —a mixture of the organic, the alien, and the technological— into the character’s design, developing her appearance, transformations, and visual concept. Although Giger did not create the actress’s complete costume, his designs served as the foundation for the prosthetics and effects created by the special effects teams. 🎥 During the promotion of the film, Natasha Henstridge was also photographed within Giger’s artistic universe, surrounded by elements of his work such as his famous biomechanical structures and furniture. Virgil Finlay (1914–1971) was one of the great illustrators of the golden age of pulp magazines focused on science fiction, fantasy, and horror. He was born in Rochester, New York, and became famous for his extremely detailed drawings made with ink, stippling, cross-hatching, and scratchboard techniques. ✒️ During his approximately 35-year career, he produced more than 2,600 graphic works, including illustrations for pulp magazines, books, and covers. He won one of the first Hugo Awards in 1953 for interior illustration and was inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame in 2012. 🏆 His career took off in 1935 when he began publishing in Weird Tales, one of the most important publications in pulp horror and fantasy. There, he illustrated stories by authors such as H. P. Lovecraft and became one of the genre’s most recognizable visual artists. 👁️ The most impressive thing about Finlay was his technique: he built entire images using thousands of tiny dots and lines.
