GM. The river is very murky, high and fast flowing today. It was a quick, dirty and chilly swim. Very invigorating.

I learned only this week that the great Steve Albini left us in 2024. How I missed this I have no idea. Maybe I was too caught up in Bitcoin nonsense. Anyway, the point is that he died suddenly of a heart attack aged 61. I’m only a few years off that myself. It really makes me wonder what tf I’m doing and maybe I should think about making the most of it. Regardless, listen to this latest and last album from Shellac. This album came out only a few days after he passed. RIP Steve. Legend.

Slightly disappointed that Scardust didn’t make the cut here but pleased that Igorrr came top. Well worth checking out if you like a bit of prog metal, especially if you’re into destroying pianos.
