Bitcoin's network could become so compromised that it dies. That is why we need BIP-110. What many do not think about that Bitcoin cannot die. If the current iteration fails, the principles and theory is not destroyed. You just start over from the first block. Sound money will always become more valuable than fiat debt. It may set us back decades in terms of fiat "value," but perhaps if BIP-110 were to fail the world will need a contentious minority to hard fork or start over. It may take decades or centuries, but sound money is a safeguard against evil that the general public needs.
