We've mostly been working on the basics, on our sovereign homestead in Molise, Italy, this month. Clearing around the well has been major - hopefully we'll have it full of water soon too! Life is very challenging this first winter on the land, without mod cons, comfort, even basics.... but we'd rather be here creating the lifework/ new world, than back with the crazies and the inverts! **Hallelujah for the simple things and the freedom of being alive & conscious!!**

A lot of our early #homesteading is flying-by-the-seat-of-our-pants kind of stuff. This is the best way to learn (the most) (in the shortest period of time)! Many of our actions might seem to be chaotic and/ or even desperate... but there are decades (and perhaps lifetimes) of practise, skills accumulated, living wisdom behind what is unfolding. Aaah; living fire changes *everything* and also this gives us a much better sense of being in control of our homestead 🙏 Following our most challenging days yet, we managed to get this miniature (tent) stove installed!! Even having a warm spot to heat up tea is a joy: this morning we relished maté, rose & nettle tea on our terazzo, greeting the morming sun. We are very blessed, and have a much clearer perspective now for what to work on next. ❤️‍🔥 #homesteading #slowliving #freedom #selfsufficiency

We are back in our blessed wee shack, on our magical mountainside property in Molise, Italy.... It is not remotely winterproof, and so is somewhat bracing to the senses already! Struggling this week, after a nasty health implosion; Vincent & I realising eventually that we're being poisoned by leaking woodstove and gas cooker 🤢😵 Major realigning to be done: the rental bothy is no longer a haven, and we're back on our beloved land, roughing it and healing with a homeopathic remedy 🙏💝❤️‍🔥🥳 Not exactly clear where we go from here, though! Another beautiful-crazy day on our homestead - this time sweeping water off of a large plastic sheet, which *kind of* saved a few hundred litres from pouring through the terazzo and into the cellars!
