Made it to ND yesterday. Really it is such an insanely flat state and you can see for miles in any direction. The lack of trees helps you to see so far. The west side of the state has a ton of oil rigs still working. The flares from the wells are like candles glowing in the vastness. #northdakota #montana #hive #peakd #dailyblog

The garden is gradually getting winterized with only a few rows left to deal with. Kale and chard can handle the frosts so are still looking super strong while hte beans rows need to be pulled. The peppers came out of hte freeze dryer perfect and need to get another batch going soon. At least my workload this year is much less than prior years. #homesteading #freezedrying #hive #peakd #dailyblog

3139 #Garlic cloves are in the ground and covered for the winter. This is 3x what I grew last year and I am up to 22 varieties. It removes about half my main garden space from regular production but the garlic is worth more than the produce I could grow in the same spot. #homesteading #farming #garlicstr #hive #peakd #dailyblog

Quite the job yesterday loading up the tree and debris but we managed to get it all on the trailer and then dumped back on the farm. More #Garlic planted and I am up to 2630 in the ground with just 6 more varieties to plant. Looks like I will have over 3100 when done! #homesteading #gardening #foodstr #hive #peakd #dailyblog

Badass thunderstorm yesterday morning that straight DUMPED rain for about 15 minutes before stopping suddenly as the storm moved to the north. In the afternoon I found these two lost fawns in the sheep pen, no clue where the mother went as tehey were both bleating for her. I chased them out of the pen and they disappeared of into the woods. I DID find a load more of the owl pellets! OH YEAH! I have my @Blitz Wallet setup so I can now actually #zap smaller than 250 sats! Quite pleased with how easy it was to get setup and running on my phone and Bluestacks. #homesteading #farming #gardening #hive #peakd #dailyblog

If you ever want to get back at someone who has a garden the most evil thing you can do is to drop a ripe tomatillo where they won't see it. BOOOOM!!!! GARDEN HERPES INFECTION!!! The damn things really are like herpes and nearly impossible to get rid of. I planted some once and now can't always find all the seedlings until they start to get big. They at least produce a food. #homesteading #gardening #farming #hive #peakd #dailyblog

The clouds were nice yesterday as it kept things cooler. The garden is plugging along and the watermelons have lost the glowing white spots on the bases. It's rare for watermelons to grow even this well given the light availability on the farm. Hell I even have some nice ears of corn that has never grown well here before! #homesteading #farming #gardening #hive #peakd #dailyblog

Got the sheep pen fence rebuilt yesterday and the animals are stoked on all the tall weeds for them to devour. I'm hoping the pen they just left will do a good job of regrowing by next year so I can keep the rotational going. I need to get some bales to make it over winter... #homesteading #farming #gardening #hive #peakd #dailyblog

The sheep and alpaca were quite happy for the cabbage plants they got tossed yesterday. The bases and the buggy ones all got pulled or chopped which leaves about half left still in the garden. It's much nicer now having most of the garden rows already done for the year where before I would have all the rows still going into October. #homesteading #farming #gardening #hive #peakd #dailyblog

The boys did a great job helping with the water feature repair yesterday. Found the low spot and fixed the best I could and their small hands made getting some of the rocks moved a lot easier. First spud sale mid day, the #freezedryer finished but needs to go again as the cucs suck up the moisture, and dug around in the squash area of the garden. #homesteading #diy #hive #peakd #dailyblog

Went to try to get a flight in yesterday but the winds were way to strong for my paraglider, much more hang glider conditions. The turkey vulture made it look super easy as it was gliding around right over our heads. But then it seems most all birds make it look super easy. Looking like shit news with the truck engine as I have no compression on the driver's side cylinders... This makes me A SAD PANDA! I really don't want to have to rip this thing apart again! #homesteading #flight #diy #hive #peakd #dailyblog

After the morning grain run in the rain I eventually got the grain spread in the garden yesterday. It will get tilled in when it's dried likely mid week sometime. In the evening we witnessed an INCREDIBLE #sunset. The colors were so intense and bright and changed constantly. #homesteading #farming #gardening #hive #peakd #dailyblog

I got the last of the red potatoes dug yesterday which puts me right at 1000 pounds of spuds so far this year, and I still have rows of yellow to dig. The truck refuses to start and I'm lucky my hair is so short or else I would be pulling it out by the fistful in frustration. Not one single code has been thrown as even a hint of the problem... #homesteading #farming #diy #hive #peakd #dailyblog

It went back together okay but then it refuses to idle. I got it to start and the bang of the piston on the head is gone but then it dies. Really hoping I don't have to take it apart again and that it'll be something easier... Swapping out the exhaust manifold bolts today in hopes that helps... The timing should be right as this is the 4th time I have done it with this engine now... MOTHER FUCKER!!!! #diy #homesteading #mechanics #hive #peakd #dailyblog

Holy shit I am doing this! The engine is back in the truck, no bolts to the frame or bell housing but it's in there. Managed to get it done by myself with a lot of kicking, pushing, and finagling. I am rather hopefull that I will be starting it up sometime today... #homesteading #diy #mechanics #hive #peakd #dailyblog

I got the harvests done before noon yesterday and the potatoes are kicking ass! Huge and amazing looking. 46.5 pounds from just 8 feet... The truck engine rebuild is in full swing and the crank, rods, and pistons are all back in and moving easily. Heads went on and today I will try to drop the thing back into the truck... Very very carefully!!! #homesteading #mechanics #diy #hive #peakd #dailyblog
