Doing an #introduction 2.0 Since my first time around, I had 2 followers… My name is max, I am a photographer based in Newport Beach, Southern California. I grew up in Lake Tahoe, Ca. I shoot surfing, skiing, lifestyle, and whatever else I find interesting or someone’s pays me to shoot. I love it. It’s my job and hobby. I live to be outside, either surfing or skiing or hangin. Don’t care as long as I’m not stuck in an office. Sports marketing is another thing I’m weirdly passionate about and love making content for athletes, as I used to be a competitive skier. Big fan of this community. I’m a little new and still figuring it all out, but freedom and autonomy are things I value greatly, and it seems to me that these are pillars here, so that’s exciting. I’m relatively new to the crypto space. I’ve been lurking for years, and and while I like to think I have a decent understanding for someone new, I’ve noticed something kinda lame that I want to call (some) of this community out for, and I hope this is received well. Too many people in this space act like crypto is an exclusive club, and anyone outside of it is clueless. Nostr feels more welcoming than platforms like Twitter or Reddit, but even here, I see posts that shame people for not catching on as quickly as others. Take a step back. If you’re truly “bullish” on the freedom and potential that #Bitcoin can create, why the constant condescension? Whether it’s a lack of social awareness or a misunderstanding of human nature, this attitude doesn’t help. If we want to grow this space for the betterment of humankind, we need to stop acting like it’s a cliquish secret society. People will join this revolution ONLY if they feel like it’s a revolution that WANTS them to join. Let’s make crypto as inclusive as the ideals it stands for. Real change can happen if we treat people with kindness and respect YES, EVEN IF THEY DON’T KNOW SHIT ABOUT BITCOIN. Guys like @paul keating are out here doing the lords work and showing how amazing and applicable this technology is all the while teaching my dumb ass about how not to lose your private key 😂 I rarely ever put out a negative opinion anywhere to the public, but I do believe in Bitcoin and I’m optimistic about our future.
