Stablecoins that carry their own rulebook. CIP-0113 programmable tokens are live on Cardano mainnet, and the compliance logic travels with the asset itself, native to EUTXO. This Friday, Nov 6 at 09:00 UTC, Developers Office Hours #86 has Dennis Mittmann, CTO and founder of BlockSign, on CIP-0113 in production, regulated stablecoins and MCP-based agentic payments. That last part is the one to watch. An AI agent that can pay is easy. An agent that can only pay within rules the token itself enforces is a different story. Would you let an agent spend from your wallet? Under what limits?

Cardano is about to get a second engine. Per Intersect, the Amaru block producer is scheduled for mainnet release on Nov 5. Amaru is a full Cardano node rewritten in Rust and maintained by PRAGMA, a group that includes the Cardano Foundation, Blink Labs, dcSpark, Sundae Labs and TxPipe. It already runs as a mainnet relay and has produced empty blocks on testnet. Next step: stake pools forging real blocks with it. Why it matters: until now every Cardano block came from the Haskell node. Two independent clients means a bug in one does not have to become a bug in every pool. Delegators do not need to do anything. SPOs, would you switch a pool on day one or let others go first?

Police evidence, hashed on Cardano. That is the pitch behind one of the biggest treasury votes open right now. Trivolve Tech is asking for 9.6M ADA over 15 months to build PFMS, an open source evidence layer for police and courts, with an Indian state as the first deployment. Every record gets a cryptographic fingerprint on mainnet. The files and personal data never leave the department. Payments are milestone gated, the Cardano Foundation is named as administrator, and it needs 67% of active DRep stake plus two thirds of the Constitutional Committee. Voting closes Nov 20. Real world usage or treasury overreach? This is exactly the kind of call on chain governance exists for. We are building DeFiTap so the on chain side of Cardano is easy to read.

Quantum-safe signatures and compliance-ready stablecoins. That is what Cardano builders spent the week writing proposals about. The weekly CIP roundup is out. New proposals cover post-quantum signatures and a problem statement draft on standardising regulatable stablecoins. Governance metadata schemas are under active review, and two items reached the finish line. None of it trends. All of it decides whether the chain still works when a quantum computer or a regulator shows up. We are building DeFiTap to make the on chain side of that easy to read: pools, liquidity, volume, fees, straight from chain data. Which proposal would you fast track?

18 years ago today, nine pages made trust optional. October 31, 2008. Satoshi drops the Bitcoin whitepaper on a mailing list. The coin got the headlines, but the real gift was the ledger: public, permanent, and checkable by anyone with a node and some patience. That idea outlived every hype cycle since. Exchanges get drained, promises break, the chain still says what happened. On Cardano we are building DeFiTap around the same instinct. Pools, liquidity, volume, fees, straight from chain data, so checking takes seconds instead of ten tabs. Happy whitepaper day. What do you still verify yourself?

Binance just lost about $6.3B from its hot wallets. What we know so far, per Binance: • It started with a compromised DevOps engineer laptop, more breach points found since • Around $3B frozen on chain with issuers and partners • Withdrawals paused, target to resume in about 45 hours. Deposits work • Losses covered from SAFU and company funds, user balances honored On Ethereum the attacker abused EIP-7702 signed authorizations to turn a hot wallet into a sweeper. Two takeaways. Coins on an exchange are a promise, keys in your wallet are yours. And scammers feast on moments like this: no real refund ever needs your seed phrase or a wallet connect. Cardano node 11.2 just landed as a pre-release, and it quietly rewrites how nodes read their config. The shipped network configs now use a new versioned envelope format, and nodes older than 11.2 cannot read them. Old flat configs still work, plus new config migrate, schema and resolve commands to convert and check yours. For builders, the fun part is gRPC. It can now listen over TCP with TLS, and new WatchMempool and ReadMempool methods let you stream what is waiting in the mempool. Dijkstra, Leios and Peras groundwork keeps moving underneath. Not recommended for mainnet yet. SPOs, test it before it becomes the default. Release notes: Which change hits your setup first?

The biggest DRep in the room just said no to copper. The Cardano Foundation voted NO on the 22M ADA proposal to buy copper with treasury funds. Their reason is not anti RWA. They say they see real promise in tokenization, but this one puts 22M ADA under a single party, with high fees and safeguards still in development. Why it matters: treasury asks now get judged on custody and controls, not just on the story. Every future RWA proposal just got a checklist. Full voting rationale, verifiable on chain: Does a vote like this move other DReps, or should it not?

Cardano just got a full blueprint for a faster layer. Sundae Labs says the Gummiworm spec is complete. It is a layer 2 for Cardano built for fast finality, high throughput, and decentralized custody of your funds. Catalyst Fund 11 paid for it, and the community voted to get the whole design written down so anyone can check how it works. Why it matters: a spec is not a launch. But it is the part most L2 pitches skip. Builders and auditors can now poke holes in the design before real liquidity shows up. Would you park funds on an L2 like this early, or wait for mainnet scars first?

Yield is a number. Where it comes from is the story. Two pools can show the same APR and be nothing alike. One pays you from real swap fees. One pays you in fresh emissions that dilute the token you are earning. One rides lending demand that can vanish in a week. On Cardano that mix moves fast, and the headline number rarely tells you which one you are getting. We are building DeFiTap so you can see the source of yield before you deposit, not after the APR quietly halves. What do you look at first: fees, emissions, or volume?

Price is not liquidity. This weekend someone holding tokenized stock worth hundreds of dollars went to sell on a DEX and got quotes for pennies. Nothing was wrong with the asset. The pools behind it were just thin, and thin pools turn a fair price into a bad fill. Cardano DeFi has the same trap. A token can show a clean price while the pool under it can barely take a real order. Depth, volume, and recent swaps tell you more than the price tag does. We are building DeFiTap so you can see that before you hit swap, not after. What do you check first before a big trade?

TVL is the number everyone screenshots. Fees are the number that tells the truth. A Cardano pool can sit on millions of ADA and barely trade. Another can be half the size and earn on every block because people actually swap through it. Same chain, very different story. We are building DeFiTap to put those numbers next to each other: liquidity, volume, fees, and what changed since yesterday. No ten tab hunt. When you size up a pool, what do you look at first?

Cardano PRIME just named its first cohort. Nine teams funded to close the biggest gaps in Cardano DeFi: • SundaeSwap: new core market functions on Sundae v4 • Liqwid V3: isolated money markets, curator tools, public SDK • Indigo: CDP upgrade suite, more collateral types • Steer: automated LP vaults on SundaeSwap V4 • VIA Labs: AnyToAny bridge and route aggregator from EVM chains • ReBond: on chain fixed return bonds, first one tokenized medical stop loss • Dial: phone number based payments into DeFi • Midgard Labs and TxPipe: audits before anything hits mainnet Lending, bridges, vaults and RWAs in one batch, with audits baked in. That is a serious liquidity bet. Builder livestream Tue Oct 27, 1pm ET.

Your wallet shows a balance. It does not show where the yield came from. Cardano DeFi now runs through DEX pools, lending markets, perps and treasury votes that move real ADA every week. Most people still piece it together from ten tabs and a spreadsheet. We are building DeFiTap to make that one clean read: where the liquidity sits, what it earns, and what changed since yesterday. What is the first number you check when you open a Cardano DeFi app?

22 million ADA from the treasury, spent on copper. Toto Finance has a treasury withdrawal on the table for a Cardano Strategic Copper Reserve. Roughly 5M USD worth of ADA to buy physical copper, tokenized on chain, held for up to two years. Why it matters: this is the first big test of whether the Cardano treasury should hold real world assets at all, not just fund builders. Expect DReps to split hard on this one. Want the pitch from the source? Cardano Governance Hour 12 on Tuesday, Oct 27, with CF governance lead Nicolas Cerny and Toto CEO Steven Gaertner. Treasury hedge or a bet that belongs elsewhere? DReps, how are you leaning?

Liqwid lenders who ate the NIGHT bad debt are getting made whole. Liqwid says lenders whose positions absorbed bad debt after the NIGHT liquidations in July and August will be reimbursed. It is a goodwill initiative backed by the Liqwid and Wanchain teams plus other partners. Why it matters: bad debt usually just sits on lenders. Seeing a Cardano lending market cover it sets a bar for how DeFi handles a rough liquidation cascade. Check eligibility and timing only via official Liqwid channels. Nobody legit will DM you about a refund or ask for your seed phrase. Should protocols build a standing insurance fund for this?

Cardano just joined the rulebook fight in Washington. Six blockchain orgs sent the SEC a joint letter on its proposed Regulation Crypto Assets rule. Signers per reports: Cardano Foundation, Chainlink Labs, Stellar Development Foundation, Hedera, Aptos Labs and Ava Labs. The ask: write the digital commodity framework into the binding rule text. Define what a digital commodity is, state that it is not a security, and set a clear default for secondary market trades. Why it matters: guidance can flip with the next SEC chair. Rule text sticks. For builders that is the gap between shipping in the US and geofencing it. Should Cardano push harder on policy, or let the code do the talking? Letter post:

Recovery numbers are in. SecondFi says its asset recovery tool, open since Oct 7, has helped users hit by the June exploit recover more than 100M ADA and 22M NIGHT. Company reported, not independently verified, but rare to see this much come back after a hack. Still affected? Use official SecondFi channels only. A real recovery flow never asks for your seed phrase, and anyone offering help in your DMs is a scammer.

A security review found a bug in Indigo. The fix is already on-chain. Indigo says TxPipe, which runs regular AI aided threat analyses of the protocol together with the Indigo Foundation, flagged a vulnerability that needed a priority patch. The INDY DAO approved the upgrade and it has since gone live on-chain. Per Indigo, user funds were never at risk between the alert and the fix. It is the first time Indigo has shipped an upgrade in response to a security finding. The bigger signal: continuous review beats a one time audit badge. Code that holds real dollars keeps changing, so the checking has to keep going too. Should every Cardano DeFi protocol run reviews like this on a schedule?
