After uninstalling X and Instagram, finding news or information about what is going on according to my interests is challenging.
Is Nostr equipped to compete with other apps in sourcing relevant information?
I deleted all my social media apps and only kept Primal. Now, I visit this space more often, but with less attachment than I used to have with Instagram, TikTok, and X.
After watching Peter Thiel in the Joe Rogan podcast I thought about his reflection on the slow development of technology in the world of atoms in comparison to the world of bits.
He compares the excitement for the future in the 70s and 80s
- ultra sonic jets
- high speed highways
- new medicines
- Etc
The world of bits have taken our attention from the world of atoms.
So how can we leverage the development of our world of atoms with the products and services available in the world of bits?
Social media been run by big tech have zero incentives for us to stick our eye balls from their feeds, but nostr don’t.
Nostr is able to provide an information infrastructure to share knowledge, manage projects and finance the R&D of the future of the world of atoms.
I think this is a good place to start to better our future and from the ones who surround us.
This protocol is still intriguing to me, even though I don’t post much, neither want to be part of the general conversations or many times I lose my track on how to find new applications to try.
I guess it’s because nostr is linked to bitcoin, but just that.
The fact that this is a place where we are recording for eternity every note we write makes me want to post only notes that are relevant in the long term, but the nostr feed is a mess with “GM, GN, buy bitcoin” and other likes and follows farming methods.
Nostr could be many things, it’s brilliant. A bunch of users are not.
I see tons of value in sharing notes to be permanent over time, scientific studies, open source working environments, a space to create permanent value for humanity.
It was a struggle to purchase Bitcoin and send it to my Bitkey Wallet, I had to do about 10 steps in 30 mins.
Finally they integrated a smooth solution, but is requieres KYC.
Is it worth it to save time but lose my privacy on my non KYC bitcoin?
It’s hard to be consistent with staying out of the grid, I wonder how the world will look like to know if is worth it or not.
