My 81 year old father and I got out for a hunt, finally. It was a perfect morning. So perfect, in fact, that I wasn't five minutes in the stand before a decent buck came blistering in to see what was going on. One through the heart laid him down gently, and we enjoyed a little venison tartare today. My only regret was not getting to sit in the perfect crisp winter morning a little longer.

I live in a pretty run down part of town. Its not always a pleasant sight. But the snowfall has transformed this neighborhood today. Sometimes the inconvenience of it all multiplies the beauty immeasurably, and pulls back a corner of the veil on what is so ordinary as to be unnoticeable.
