Nocoiners will try to scare you, claiming “Bitcoin won’t work if the grid goes down.” They’ll argue that you need “specialized equipment,” “electricity as a power source,” and “a fancy uplink setup.” Don’t let them trick you into a doomsday panic! The truth is:
“Specialized equipment”: Is just a satellite dish and receiver. Not rocket science, and easy to grab if you need one.
“Power source”: It is true that you will need some juice for your gear, but a small solar panel or battery will do the trick.
“Fancy uplink setup”: All you need is a simple satellite transmitter to broadcast a transaction via satellite.
That being said, it’s always good to remind nocoiners that if the world’s power grid does collapse, we’ve got far bigger problems than trying to send a payment.
Nevertheless, if you do need to send Bitcoin in such a situation. It is easy to sign transactions offline with a hardware wallet (like ColdCard) and broadcast them via satellite networks (like Blockstream’s), mesh networks (like Locha Mesh), or radio (like Meshtastic).
#Bitcoin works, even when the grid doesn’t. Stay sovereign, stay unstoppable.
