I am currently exploring the Nostr ecosystem and using my private key to access browser clients carelessly, because the stakes are low. How can I do this safely without putting significant trust on a third party?

Using the standard URI to facilitate #XNO tipping in Amethyst and potentially other clients The standard URI that is interpreted as a nano address by programs such as the Nault wallet (in desktop) and the Natrium wallet (in the phone) is: nano:nano_public_address So, if you use this format in a field where a "website" link is accepted, someone clicking that link who has a wallet app installed will open their wallet with the nano_public_address as the recipient. What this means is that you can add your nano address to your profile in the "website" field using this format, and it will provide a functionality similar to the lighting-network functionality that is already built directly into the some clients when visiting a user's profile. This does not work with every client, but with Amethyst + Natrium it works great. This does not mean that you will be able to "Zap" using nano. For that, a new client would have to be developed. But this URI can be used to integrate nano tipping to an extent with minimal effort until more generalized clients exist that give us more freedom about the crypto currencies we can tip with, or until a nano-specific or maybe nano/banano client is developed. If anyone does want clients that integrate nano or whatever their favorite cryptocurrencies might be, it is good to show some interest about Nostr integration in your community, and about your favorite cryptocurrency in Nostr. An interested community can be a good motivator to develop.

If you add your nano address as a website using the standard URI, it can be used for tipping too (directly from the profile), like this: nano:nano_165ncyhzggm6d9isrhfu956s6dnrt3tca8dge86b4uw97zddmt9cfwzyo63i You can see it in my profile as an example. You have to have some nano wallet for it to work. Let me know if you add your wallet and I'll tip!

Why do I keep automatically re-following me as I switch Nostr clients? I really don't want to follow that guy.

RsNano: Nano cryptocurrency node written in Rust Another project that I think is worth highlighting: RsNano! This is an attempt to port the Nano Node code to rust. The main developer behind this is Gustav Schauwecker, and he plans to stream his development process every Tuesday on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/@gschauwecker)

GitHub roadmap for Nano. If you've ever wanted to contribute to core development, here might be a good place to start One of the community members (qwahzi) recently took the time to improve the roadmap of the Nano node project in GitHub. This is a good place to look at to see figure out where help might be needed if you would like to volunteer, or simply look at the state of the project.
