Had an idea pop into my head on Friday which I've been ruminating on the whole weekend. It's a trivial ideal, yet a gargantuan task for humans to plan & execute. The idea came because I have a bunch of gift cards for places that are not near me any longer or have balances too small for me to warrant buying anything from that designated merchant. I started thinking about, what happens if a merchant goes out of business. What happens to those funds?
TL;DR - Break the boundaries of gift cards; Use ANY gift card the way YOU want to; Disrupt the norm
I could try and build a business around it, then pitch it to Block Inc., in an attempt to get acquired. This would take too long and would take too much human capital to develop (as I only have slight payments experience & very limited software developing skills). It would also assume that I want to profit from this idea, which is not the case. I believe strongly that open source is the way #opensourcedideas #opensourceeverything
