‘General robots that do many things reliably are still far off but it’s encouraging & great to see more & more robots do one specific task & do it very reliably. Allowing robots to develop in this way is a better & more progressive bottom up approach to robotic development.
Thoughts from Ken Goldberg on TIP Infinite Tech Show with host @preston discussing realistic expectations in the field of modern robotics.

“Do unto others and be done unto by them only by mutual agreement, keeping in mind how it will affect others” - The Bitcoin Rule.
“There's a historical analogy that before the periodic table, before we understood protons and electrons, practitioners of alchemy made real advances but without a principled foundation. Deep learning today may be in a similar position. We have powerful empirical results, but we lack the fundamental theory that would let us derive new architectures rather than just stumbling upon them. Categorical deep learning is an attempt to find that periodic table for neural networks.”

When a critically acclaimed film ends and the credits roll…

‘There is nothing new in human experience. Each generation thinks it invented debauchery, suffering or rebellion but every impulse & appetite from the disgusting to the sublime is on display right here right now…to understand something in the present, you must understand the past.’
The Holdovers (2023)

Darkness overwhelms a meaningless existence.
But not all Hope is lost.
Have faith and choose The Light for sight to show your soul the meaningful way.
Everything feels meaningless.
There is no point and nothing matters. There is only hurt, pain and sadness.
I ungratefully question my existence.
Death feels like it would be a relief.
To be nothing.
To be free of life’s shackles

Loneliness has a way of sharpening itself at this time of year.
The reminders of being alone, distant family, shallow conversations pile up.
I numb the cuts with good liquor and quiet resentment.
I’ve grown to hate this season. 😔

What comes after The Digital Age?

“The idea of the Philosopher's Stone that alchemists pursued for centuries is said to be the incorruptible substance. It would serve as an antidote to tyranny.
It would accelerate personal transformation and purify the soul of the person that interacts with it.
It would be the principles of Christ in matter or a tool. The values, principles and virtues Bitcoin embodies is the core to Christ's teachings. Love thy neighbor as thyself and love God above all.”
Thoughts from @Robert Breedlove
“Literacy is the language for the subjective, numeracy is the language for the objective and money is the language for the transjective, which is the betweenness. We need all these languages to be civilized creatures.”
Thoughts from @Robert Breedlove
To build a soulful connection, is love or trust the true foundation?
Or do both emerge from a deeper subconscious layer beyond conscious comprehension? Things we do not have ‘words’ for.

Exchange is the very nature of divine life - of consciousness itself. All things share in the divine life through participation in this dance of giving and receiving .

“500 years ago, pre-industrial age, the natural world was pristine. We have traded some of that pristine beauty for all of these other gifts that we have as an advanced society.
We can have both but to do that, we have to go to space.
The most fundamental measure for progress is energy usage per capita.
We are living on a finite planet so we have to go out into the solar system to use more energy.
You could argue about WHEN you have to do it but you can't credibly argue about WHETHER we have to do it.”
Jeff Bezos on The Lex Fridman podcast discussing the future of humanity & space exploration.

“Meditation is the universal and time-tested method for ‘putting the mind in the heart.’ It circumvents our preconceived expectations and mental agendas and opens up that place of immediate knowingness.”
