Now this island is nothing more than a random patch of dirt that houses tax serfs and debt slaves. It hates me and everyone like me. The political class abandoned me, the central bank robbed me blind, and the housing market’s a Ponzi scheme. I can’t buy a home, or start a family, or be proud of my history. They stripped out everything that made Australia a nation. Now it’s a husk, globalist sludge. A place where you and I exist and work, but build nothing. So there’s nothing left of “Australia the Idea”. There’s just “Australia the Place”: a geographic location where everyone is welcome, because our national religion is house prices and GDP.

I earn $200,000. I pay $90,000 in income tax. I pay a further $40,000 in council rates, land tax, GST, alcohol excise, fuel excise, license fees, car registration, get a new passport, and inflation. My tax rate is 65%.

60,000 words into my novel and I realise that writing a novel is way harder than posting on social media because you get no cheap dopamine rush from likes and zaps when you finish a page. But it’s infinitely more rewarding 💪

In 2032, we’re all augmented with GovTech. There’s no unapproved thoughts or movements. Every human action is run through the AI to ensure that it’s compliant with the relevant Safety Regulations. THE NANNY STATE I go down to the park for a beer with my friends. We all get fined for drinking in public. We decide to go fishing, but apparently you need a licence for that now. An afternoon on the jet ski might be fun. Oh no, you need a licence for that too. But they're so easy to drive... I have a new business idea, and start selling lemonade to people on this hot Sydney day. But this gets me another fine. Why the f do you need a permit for this? I watch Tucker Carlson with Zyn and think 'hey that looks cool'. I order some online but the TGA destroys it at the border. How do I get my nicotine fix now? A pack of ciggies is $60. That's too much for me. Last night a gang robbed my house with machetes. I need a gun to protect myself from this lawlessness because the cops are useless. What the? I can't even buy a gun? I post online about the gang who robbed my wife. But it gets taken down and now I'm in Court for hate speech. Since when was this a crime? I get sentenced to prison but tell them I'm a woman. I get a lighter sentence and get jailed with all the hotties. Life's not too bad in prison. At least I can afford to live here: 3 meals a day and a roof over my head isn't too bad. And the government will pay for my sex change.

Is nuclear war coming?

And every transaction gets poured over by my bank. They froze my account when I bought bitcoin. They said it was to stop scams, but I think it’s because they’re afraid of money they don’t control. And people who aren’t controlled by their money. I feel concerned that the future will be worse than the past. What world will our kids grow up to? Barcoded, censored, fed fake food until their heart fails. The funny thing is we pay tax to overlords, funding their control over us. I wonder what would happen if we all pushed back?

The academics at the University of Naarm kept arguing that their studies showed China would never invade, right up until the point a cluster bomb fell on them.
