I filmed this spinning object in sky above my place back in August 2015. At the time I sent an email with the video to Stanton Friedman, but he never got back to me. I came across the video on a disk tonight and thought to ask for thoughts here. I had to use vlc to convert wmv file to mpg4 to view on nostr. Part of the movement may be my shaking. It was weird how it spun for a bit. Sound is interesting on video. May be a vehicle going by place at end. #UFO #mystery

Big impact from the #sun. G4 magnetic #storm conditions reached on #Earth. Watch sky tonight for northern lights!
This is what a loaded earth facing #solar gun looks like. Probably most complex active region on the #sun since Halloween storms over 20 years ago. High probabilities (45%) of a major X class flare today. However, there's a long history of active regions fizzling out when #earth facing.

Incoming c.m.e. from #sun due to X class #solar flare. Northern lights watch this weekend.

That is one massive eruption from the #sun! #solar

Well since #Democrats hate #bitcoin and #Republicans love it, then with #btc soaring this week that certainly points to Republicans sweeping the houses this year. After all, conservatives are getting richer: thus giving more money for red states and red candidates. #ElizabethWarren failed. #Biden better keep an eye out for nursing home brochures on Jill's desk.
Okay I cave. I'm going all in #bitcoin. Going to meet with my bank today to take a 2nd #mortgage on my house and buy as many #sats as I can. Yeah, #btc to a million. Bring it on baby! ;-)
AR3590 on the #sun is no longer #Earth facing. While it's still a scary looking active region we are out of the most dangerous zone. While Earth facing it was a real dud. Some decent flares, but it shot only blanks (i.e. no c.m.e.). Things are calm on the sun now. We only got a G1 magnetic storm out of the sideswipe by the last c.m.e.

AR3590 on #sun looking nasty for now being #Earth facing. Could get another major #solar flare out of this yet.

Perspective:
The largest #solar flare of solar cycle 23 was on 4 November 2003 and was in excess of X28. It saturated x-ray instruments so no readingg of it's peak was obtained - albeit consensus puts it a bit over X40.
The largest solar flare of solar cycle 24 was on 6 September 2017 and was recorded by NOAA as an X9.3 but which spaceweatherlive.com lists as peaking at X13.33 flare.

Searching for historical solar and auroral activity data? The archive is filled with data between the year 1996 and yesterday.
We are seeing sunspots higher in the #sun because we are in the period of solar maximum. During this period there are more sunspots and more solar flares. A solar cycle (from minimum to maximum and back to minimum) lasts about 11 years. We are in solar cycle 25. While astronomers have been consistently watching sunspots since 1755 we have only had the instruments to record detailed data on solar activity for three solar cycles (23 to 25) - thanks to the SOHO orbiter being launched 2 December 1995.

FYI:
"Solar flares are enormous explosions of electromagnetic radiation from the sun. They happen when energy stored in magnetic fields, usually above sunspots, is suddenly released. Some flares involve a coronal mass ejection (CME), in which a huge amount of charged particles, or plasma, is flung out."

NOAA notice on major X6.3 #solar flare from sun. Not a kill shot. Conditions are currently very calm now so #Earth could absorb things nicely. However, watch for a possible cannibal c.m.e. to really drive solar storm conditions later this weekend.
