This time last year, we had just arrived here and we were so happy to start a small garden. And this year, we have already been eating from our garden. I made some tomato chutney incorporating all these beautiful ingredients from our #garden. Today we sowed some okra seeds, hopefully they sprout. I love okra but they are so expensive here, so fingers crossed. #growyourownfood #gardening image

Went into the garden to get some snacks for our daughter. I did not expect her to like raw garden peas but she really enjoys them. We made cherry jam and I made a small jar of cherry titaura for myself. Titaura is a very Nepali snack that is sweet and savoury and spicy all at the same time. It does feel great to #growyourownfood ! #gardening #homesteading

Two of the three rhododendrons that we have planted have flowers now. Bees absolutely love the blooms, so does our daughter. The child in me is also ecstatic to walk past so many flowers everyday in my very own garden. #bloomstr #flowerstr #gardening

Our #garden is painted green at the moment. Many sprouts and many more waiting to sprout. It's hard work these days in our almost off-grid, not easily accessible land but the rewards are hopefully worth it. #gardening #homesteading #growyourownfood

The video is not that great as I did not dare go closer but can you spot the snake having a tiny living snack? So many surprises in our tiny #homestead

Our red clovers are bees magnet. Here are two different bees working hard this morning. Hope you enjoy seeing them as well. #gardening #homesteading #bees

I had a go at the #adirondack chair. I used our old stock of scaffolding planks so not all the angles came out great but I am really proud of this chair. Making things for yourself is so gratifying, I am so glad that I get to try #woodwork and see if I can get better at it. #buildstr #photography #makeyourownstuff

Some fresh greens from our garden. Although most veggies have just started sprouting, we have some lovely spring onions and coriander leaves. image #growyourownfood #homesteading

Our garden gives, and we happily receive. The small bouquet of spent flowers looks amazing on my own handmade bench. Life is pretty amazing atm. image #bloomstr #gardening #grateful

It's not perfect, but I am so proud of my work. We really needed a bench and I decided to have a shot at it myself. Husband is now asking me to build some chairs in similar style, so let's see if I can make those in the coming weeks. #buildstr #makeyourownstuff #furniture #proud

This is a simple show rack that I made with scrap scaffolding planks. Making stuff is so gratifying. #PoW #buildstr #woodwork #learning

We are blessed with many colours and blooms this spring. Every morning, we like to walk around the garden and spot a new flower that blossomed that day. We also get to show our daughter what butterflies and bees look like in real life. I can't remember the last time I had seen a butterfly in the city where we lived. She also comes to the vegetable garden and helps me water my garden. I hope that she appreciates the value of #growingyourownfood. #spring #flowers #photography

Our garden is very easy on the eyes at the moment, that is ignoring the massive brambles forest ๐Ÿ˜‚ Hopefully the land will be as generous with food this season as it is with flowers this spring (so far). #flowers #garden #photography #homesteadlife

I wanted to have a small chair for our toddler when she is outside with us. This is the very first piece of furniture that I ever made and I am so happy the way it turned out. It really feels great to make things for your loved ones. And the best part is that our daughter loves it. She has been constantly coming back to this chair while playing. One happy mom here. #momstr #buildstr #furniture

Spring is here. We have been working hard each day to start our #garden. We have planted potatoes, some radishes, fenugreek seeds, mustard, beans and carrots. We have also planted marigold, calendulas and nasturtiums as companion plants. Let's see how this season goes for us. In the meantime we are blessed with beautiful blooms. Hopefully you all are having a great start of the season too. #growyourownfood #homestead #flowers #photography image

Look at how gorgeous the whole place looks with the #spring flowers. We love walking to this side of the village. Hopefully in a few years, our own camellia tree would also be this beautiful.

Husband has built me my very own AI agent for my #garden. It's such a great tool for planning patches and finding the perfect timing and companions for plants. And now thanks to this agent, my husband does not have to listen to me go on and on about my ramblings about the garden ๐Ÿ˜‚ image #aiagent #gardening

The #growyourownfood season has started for us and we are really excited for this season this year. This will be our first complete year in our #homestead. The goal this year is to learn as much as possible about our land, the soil and the various possibilities for food independence. We do not expect to be seasoned farmers in just a year or two but we are trying out best to learn. We have some peas sprouting at the moment. We have direct sown some broad beans, carrots and radish. We also have sprinkled some coriander and fenugreek seeds. We have thyme, oregano and rosemary doing pretty well at the moment. I have never had luck with carrots so fingers crossed for this attempt. image #gardening
