This is what freedom looks like with Bitcoin in the real world.
Not in charts or conferences, but in indigenous Peru, where families without banks are using Bitcoin to build a better future.
Over 9 days, we partnered with MOTIV Peru to work alongside 6 local and indigenous communities, building circular economies powered by Bitcoin.
More than 70% of the program’s expenses stayed in the local economy, paid directly in BTC. Local hotels, drivers, artisans, and food vendors all accepted Bitcoin.
📲 300+ new wallets were activated across community members, connecting people to money they can access, own, and use without permission.
👟 We cared for and treated the feet of 100 children in a rural farming community, many of whom begin working in the fields as early as age 3, wearing worn-out or no shoes at all. Their feet were blistered and exposed. We then fitted them with proper new shoes, made by a local shoemaker and paid entirely in Bitcoin. For most, it was their first real pair.
This is Bitcoin used as it was intended: to expand access, restore dignity, and create real-world freedom, especially for those who’ve been excluded for too long.
This is decentralization in action, freedom lived, not promised. 🧡
Grateful to MOTIV Peru and every Paystand volunteer who gave their heart to this experience. 🙏
