Alongside our sailing adventure that’s gonna start soon (see previous posts), I want to start sharing my passion for photography and shooting videos while traveling the world by foot or sailboat. For years I’ve been shooting on my trips around France, Europe, and even India, capturing great moments and memories. I enjoyed so much sharing some of my best work with friends and family, with prints of my best pictures, or short films. I feel now that I want to share more broadly and nostr feels like the best place to start just that, by offering a chance to more people to experience nature, mountains, seas, wildlife and biodiversity through my eyes. So here I am, sharing my first picture. This is a male Ibex (or bouquetin in French), shot on the mountain « La Tournette » above Annecy at about 2000m (6500 ft). We were on our way to the top (about 2500m or 8200ft), when my wife SaltyLady (npub1y49llvlzsyasffesyy3k9u39zqp4rwawjpgh9jy2xu6yah04lssq46wk85) and I stumbled upon this lone huge male Ibex grazing peacefully. We often encountered lots of Ibexes and other wildlife while hiking in the area, but never had we met one that big and that close. I love how this shot captures this glimpse of connection between him and us, moments before we just went on his own business.. grazing. I hope this made you travel a bit and feel how we are all connected, humans, living creatures, nature. Hiking and mountaineering around the alps for the last 8 years as really made me love cartography and navigation. I’m now applying this passion to sailing. Yesterday saw a record outflow of GBTC ETF since its launch (645M). And it’s only the second day that the total outflow in BTC ETF was higher than inflows (-154M). In total since Feb 29th, we saw about 4.9 Billions inflow in BTC ETFs. Talk about draining the supply!!

Tomorrow I will pass the exam to acquire the French amateur radio certificate in order to be allowed to use various tools sailors use at sea for security (VHF, DSC, EPIRB etc..). I’m baffled by how complex those communication systems are compared to modern tools and how many they are. They were designed over the last 50 years, and international organizations just added them on top of each other which in end makes for a very complicated ecosystem of tools. The goal of those tools is to prevent the loss of human life in the harsh marine environment. Having redundancy is key to face all situations, but this also adds complexity. I’m sure the latest satellite technologies, digital solutions and decentralized systems will help simplify that situation at one point. 🤞🏻
