I'm guessing I'm staying with Primal for the most part for now...
Now finally reviewing how Damus has progressed.. What. The. Horse. Is even going on. It's become "Damus Notedeck" and the interface is a sidebar and a sidebar walks into a bar and so many optional panes WHAT DO YOU EVEN USE THESE FOR? MOVABLE PANES PAINS ME and at the start you're already logged in as some pink horese what it the name of horseapples IS GOING ON!?!? What kind of human made this app, like this!?
Now on to Primal. Much better! It is still slow and every key press feels suspiciously laggy ... No idea why, but at least the UI feels less buggy than a year ago. MOST things respond, but there are still a bunch of button presses where the "throbber" animation goes on and on and it feels a lot like a the glitchy async feeling of exploring a slow FTP server in an old Netscape browser (where, in contrast to a dedicated FTP client, the browser is very opaque about the connections the browser is making and/or reusing). _IS THIS MARKDOWN??_ No it isn't, so what's the point of the "NOTE PREVIEW"? And why are there PERMANENT (2) (1) NOTIFICATION PILLS in the left pane image ?!
I am reviewing how Nostur looks nowadays on the desktop. It looks horrible TBH, pretty bare bones but still quite difficult to use. It’s layout acts exactly like one of those old first-gen “responsive” apps that used up half of your iPad screen for some static thing and the other half for everything that mattered without taking into account what or whether there was a better way to use screen estate. Then for everythinh, like this composer dialog, it uses modals with lots of tiny buttons without tooltips. Basically, meh, the same as a year or two ago. image
#introductions my dream is to bring $NANO into the #nostr ecosystem. Sorry @jack but, while I believe #lightningnetwork is inevitable, I can’t stand how inefficient of a hack it is. and #merrychristmas to everyone who cares 🙂
