Day 51:
700 miles down and we made it to Kennedy Meadows
Made it to Kennedy Meadows , taking 2 days off, then time to summit the highest peak in the USA, bought Ice axe , crampons , and bear vault , shit getting real.

The cabin from last night was a 💩 hole, but it saved us from 60 mph wind.
Fresh snow in May.
Now in Lake Isabella having pizza.
Day 45:
We are at 7,000 feet. The Sierras in the distance.
Day 45:
We have a 13 mile hike today and will be staying in a cabin this evening. 1500 feet of elevation over the first 3 miles, then the rest of the hike will be easy.

Today's hike has been amazing , the flowers and scenery changes have been non stop
We are camping at Bird’s Spring tonight.

I drank some bad water yesterday and spent the whole day vomiting. I feel better today.

We made it to mile 600 yesterday

The trail is tough today,
But beautiful…

Last night we camped at mile 594.
We will pass mile 600 today. Kennedy Meadows will be the celebration.
Finally out of the desert and wind.
The Sierras start at mile 700.

I have committed to moving on to the Sierras.
We were going to hang tight and do a lot of day hikes to keep our legs strong, but have ultimately decided to press on.
The snow seems to be melting, but we are still at the front of the pack.
We will move a bit slower the next 150 miles.
I was able to buy new shoes and an Ice Axe.
