@dave who are the top alpinists (alive or dead) who have not dedicated their career to 8000 m mountains?

I get up from bed at 0300 to do solo climbing laps in a crag 40’ away. Because I can’t sleep, because of burnout. And the odd climbing schedule is what makes more sense of my current life.
