For the last few years I’ve been thinking about how #bitcoin can set me “free”. As “retirement” looms closer, I’m realizing that having a lot of wealth means being responsible for stewarding it well, and improving the world or lives of those around me. It’s not about me after all. Maybe my yearning for “financial freedom” has actually just been selfishness in disguise. I believe meaning is found in the adoption of responsibility, but there is a childish part of me that wants to shrug off every “ought”. I’m beginning to accept that if I’m attempting to live a meaningful life and do it the right way, I will never be totally free of responsibilities until the day I die. #nostr

A lot of people in the #Bitcoin world talk about how it made them realize they don’t need much material stuff to be happy. It slows down their consumer habits etc—more saving. But also less spending on stuff like home improvement projects. Seems like if you take that too far, there’s a tragedy in never actually using your money to improve your life. You could end up kind of missing the dance while the music’s playing. And in a strange way, living a minimalist, low-quality, ultra frugal life can actually be a sign of intense greed although it wouldn’t look like it to most people. Idk what do you think - how you decide when to spend your bitcoin?

I’m seeing a lot of bad takes from #bitcoin ers who haven’t done their proof of work on #gamestop #GME holders are precoiners. They are taking self custody of their shares through #DRS and trying to expose the fraud. The opportunity will be ripe for them to protect their profits in something other than US Dollars and #Bitcoin will be waiting for them.
