Mainly travelling to/from Austria, Italy and France. Secondarily, Germany, the Czech Republic and Switzerland. I am based in Austria, and my focus will be on long-distance travel, but I will offer all kinds of tips for local and regional trains, from ways to reduce prices to the most beautiful routes. 48xTc8MbEuCVkRbwGGo1PxP3XsJtvwAgFhtJ7ML6dobV9TTYeSxBnHNFNdqkLLR18kK5K1L5qxVgjRZHkGkVYrvaHDPozew
From a Swiss train driver on the Lausanne to Bern route. Lac Léman for locals, Lake Geneva for tourists.
Freight trains, as beaten to death as some of them look, are still trains.
A Polish PKP Intercity with a Czech locomotive from České Dráhy in Austria.
The VT 18.16 express train, built in 1968, was a German Reichsbahn jewel. This beauty has been undergoing restoration for several years by a non-profit organisation and right now they're making test runs and staff training. Here, you can see the train departing from Halberstadt towards Thale. When they announce something concrete, I'll let you know.
David Conroy, an Irish filmmaker, saw a train while riding another one and decided to make a video with his phone. Clearly a different result than me with my shaky hand. 🤣😂 Absolutely impressed! 👏👏👏
A few pictures from the preparations for the Monaco Grand Prix F1
A few pictures from Tarvisio Boscoverde (northeastern Italy, near the Austrian border).

An Italo train from Udine arriving in Venice Mestre in the direction of Napoli Centrale.
Yesterday, I took an InterCity from Ventimiglia to Milan. Nothing out of the ordinary, but nice as usual - pleasantly bland, I might say. I added a short video of the Italian Riviera, but the window was dusty on the outside.
A video and a few pictures from the Verona Train Station, where I hopped on the Venice to Milan Frecciarossa.
I also catch the "Le Bar" from TGV INOUI in the Antibes Train Station.
A French TER (regional train) of the south region (Région Sud) from Ventimiglia, Italy, to Les Arcs Draguignan, in the Juan-Les-Pins Train Station. The second video is towards Cannes.
Between Innsbruck and Verona, we got the usual new Austrian RailJet that goes from Munich to Bologna/Venice. The seats make you think about the Business and First Class from Qatar Airways, it is what it is. But, the Quiet Zone, doesn't mean what you think it means when 50% is occupied by Italians. So, yeah, cheers Italy! 🥂 Just a few bad pictures, because the train was absolutely full, plus a video with the beautiful weather. 🤷 (I had to add a few pictures from Verona...) image
A few days ago, we took the Vienna to Bregenz RailJet from ÖBB to reach Innsbruck. Due to some changes, we received a free upgrade to the 1st class, right next to the restaurant, with wonderful seats for longer journeys. It was too early for us to get crazy with the draft beer, since it was 6:30 in the morning, but it seemed we were the only ones with this specific opinion, tho we were also the only ones with a kid. As a bonus, the weather was all over the place, which made the trip even nicer.
Some random regional trains from the Meidling Train Station of Vienna.
