A buddy sent me this from northern Idaho yesterday. Big cat taken by bow with their hounds. image
A buddy caught this tagged crappie over the weekend. Game and Fish needs a more user friendly system/app where you can input tag/collar info and see the animals data in real time. image
Wolf season is open. If you sign up for the Foundation of Wildlife Management you can be reimbursed up to $2k per animal in Montana and Idaho. Then convert your wolf to sats.
Response to hunting buddies when they ask me why I had them liquidate their 401Ks- image
True complete. Furthest steel I could use was a 675 meter plate. Kestrel was spot on. First round impact.
I’ll take that 100 meter three round group. Sub 1/2 MOA. Next, True it on steel with ballistic kestrel.
-Gear Review- Currently in the market for a larger tent so I thought I’d share these side by side. Left tent is a 4 man Peax Solitude and the right is an 8 man Seek tent. I’m 6’4”/225 so I prefer the extra space on long hunts. Especially if I’m sharing it. The 4 man tent is great for 1 person and a stove and you could get away with two but you’d be cramped. With no stove, I’ve slept 3 adults but that was pushing it. Really, this is a two man tent and great for all season solo hunts or 2 man early season/ no or small stove hunts. The 8 man Seek is great for 3 to 4 adults max with a stove and some gear. It’s also a great small family tent if you’re looking to bring your spouse and kids. The half nest add on allows you to enclose kids so they do not touch the stove at night while also sealing out bugs. You can fit 2 adults and 2-3 small kids in one half nest. They also come with additional interior liners which are a must in my opinion(see the white walls in the tent). Nothing worse than touching a tent wall and getting soaked at 4am. Both options are back packable which is what I’m looking for. They also save a ton of weight on horses rather than packing a wall tent(just sold mine). image
Cool desert buck that a buddy and his boy took in AZ this season. #huntstr image
Morning 100 yard cold bore(shooting the target behind the elk). Attempting the lighted nocks this year to see shot placement in low light. They’re also fun to watch. #bowstr
A friend’s mom was out hunting muleys today and glassed this cat stalking a bedded buck. #huntstr image
New year, new bow. Matthew’s ARC 34. Go spend some corn and learn to hunt this year. #huntstr image
