Running FOSS miner firmware (mujina) on two FOSS hashboards (bitaxes) with our own FOSS mining pool (hydrapool). Raspberry pi with Debian OS is acting as the “control board”. What’s stopping you from developing? Check out the 256foundation.org
Happy New Year Heatpunks! Just put together a full walkthrough tutorial for our Hashrate Heating savings calculators from @Exergy Our 2026 roadmap is epic. Stay tuned for hashrate solar calculators and full fledged ROI estimates, unique to your heating load profile.

Glad to see Hashrate Heating has made the ASHRAE newsletter for industry news! "Americans Are Heating Their Homes with Bitcoin This Winter ... someday its use as a [heat] source within homes and buildings will be much more widespread" image

Cloud flare outage experience today: - At Home: Couldn't send a command from phone to turn off the furnace. (Ecobee talks to remote server). - At Exergy Office: Home assistant app on our phone sends command directly to local node, passes command over local API to our thermostat (Venstar) & miners.

Almost all gas heaters are oversized because they are cheap to add extra head room to. Just burn more gas. Open valve longer. Hashrate Heat requires proper sizing on the margin to get best bang for buck. Don’t want to buy asic chips you won’t use. Goal is to optimize mining duty cycle for average heat load so you get most sats. We do this at @Exergy

Note on Node-RED. There are pros and cons here compared to PyASIC / Node-RED: Pros) No service maintenance. If you have the API documentation, you can build anything you want. Don't need to be a developer. Cons) More difficult setup process. Not an out-of-the-box setup process. PyASIC/ASIC.rs: Pros) Automates setup. Input miner IP, define power limits. API commands and miner stats are automatically brought in to Home Assistant vis the HASS miner HACS integration. Cons) Requires continuous maintenance to add new miners. Does not always include all API variables for every miner command. Needs active development for each new "hashrate heating model".

Hashrate growth should replace GDP. It’s a metric of the human capacity to harness untapped energy, build capacity, eliminate waste and maximize efficiency.
