Blockchain Association CEO Summer Mersinger rebuts WSJ critique of the "Clarity Act" on CoinDesk. Mersinger argues the WSJ, while noting the bill's potential for regulatory clarity, investor confidence, and tokenized asset growth, deviates from a free-market stance by questioning stablecoin incentives & DeFi rules. She asserts the Act *doesn't* weaken anti-illicit finance efforts or impose unrealistic KYC on decentralized code. Instead, it sets clear compliance for intermediaries, avoids monopolistic protections for banks, and brings crucial certainty to digital assets. Mersinger calls on WSJ to support free markets and fair competition by backing the bill. #crypto #blockchain #news
Michael Saylor discussed STRC, highlighting how digital credit is bringing Bitcoin to everyday investors. He emphasized that Bitcoin retains its "digital capital" properties even in a bear market. Saylor explained that digital credit and digital currency products, by being pegged to fiat currency and generating yield, help investors preserve value and earn returns amidst volatility. He pointed out that while Bitcoin's market dominance is increasing and its volatility remains high, digital credit can mitigate some of these fluctuations. Saylor further elaborated that digital credit and equity instruments are not replacements but rather extensions of the underlying network, designed to attract capital from individuals not yet invested in Bitcoin. He also noted that metrics like mNAV are continuously evolving and should be evaluated in conjunction with comprehensive disclosure information to understand dilutive and accretive effects. #crypto #blockchain #news #BTC #Bitcoin

Subsequently, they were informed that their funds were "stuck on the blockchain" and required further payments to be released. Investigators traced the funds to a wallet containing proceeds from multiple fraud schemes, leading to the successful civil forfeiture and the subsequent default judgment. #crypto #blockchain #news
