A different perspective on Banking security measures.
A year or so back when Strike opened in the UK I decided to set up a regular transaction to purchase Bitcoin each week. I set up a standing order at my bank to Strike UK. The first payment was held & I had to go through security checks over the phone. It was a call that lasted 15-20 minutes after which the lady who I was speaking too they felt assured that I understood what I was doing, & immediately released the held payment sending it to Strike as well as putting Strike on my safe senders list. I’ve been DCA every week ever since without any problems.
Interestingly the girl I was on the phone too at the bank went off script & started asking me about Bitcoin in more detail. I was suspicious at first & asked her why she was asking so many questions. She explained that a friend of hers had told her to invest in Bitcoin but she hadn’t followed it through. She genuinely wanted to know more about how to invest in it & where to start. That made me realise that at the end of the day we’re all human beings looking to secure our future for ourselves & our families. They may work for the bank but they still want to make wise decisions & choices just like the rest of us. If I ever get a phone call in future I’ll be a little less defensive recognising that they are likely ignorant about what Bitcoin is & simply need educating .
