I used to dismiss age old wisdoms as trite. Yet, as time passes, I am beginning to understand the reason these wisdoms still stand after millennia: they are true. These days, “truth” seems to be a fluid concept, and this fluidity has left us unmoored; unsure of the very foundation we stand upon. As a species, our evolutionary process is glacial. And while technology will continue to completely transform our civilization in the coming years, it won’t change our underlying psycho-physiological structure. We are designed to collaborate We are built to inspire We thrive through action Our default mode is to endure. — “It’s always darkest before the dawn.” “Do undo other’s as you would like them to do to you.” “Be tolerant with others and strict with yourself.” “That which does not kill us, makes us stronger.” “This above all: to thine own self be true.” “Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.” “In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: It goes on.” “The best way to predict the future is to invent it.” “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” “It is never too late to be what you might have been.” — What age old wisdoms anchor you? image

I have been down and out lately, really in the dumps. It must be 20 days now I’ve felt this way. *checks WoS* “last zap 21 days ago”… image #ZapsLetsTalk

High time preference = anxiety. Low time preference = prosperity. And we wonder why our mental health crisis keeps getting worse?
