Just got this email “You’re now using Gemini on your iOS device” wtf. Didn’t select or opt in to anything. Anyone know how to turn that off? (And yes, I know I shouldn’t be using Google, but in the interim and off switch would be useful)

A message from our school’s technology director… making me continue to question our public school system and the negative effects of social media on children… “I want to make you aware of and share information regarding a new concerning social media trend that involved students intentionally attempting to short-circuit their Chromebook, which can and in some cases has led to Chromebooks catching fire. Students are doing this by inserting conductive items such as paper clips, graphite from pencils, gum wrappers, and other metal objects into one of the ports on the side of the Chromebook, usually the USB port. This causes the Chromebook to spark, smoke, stop working, or even catch fire, posing a significant safety hazard. “ Hmm… it does sound a bit more exciting than memorizing the quadratic formula… but something is wrong here…

Will this be the year they realize that the coins in their Easter eggs are merely coins taken from their own piggy banks when they weren’t watching? It’s a great Bitcoin lesson in the making!

Hmm, as a responsible parent I took the Halloween candy and put it out of reach so no sneaky children will eat too much garbage… however, I find myself being the one sneakingly eating the garbage…

… turning a small one car attached garage into a livable space should be easy… but wait, I need perc test and a new septic drawing even though I’m not adding any bathrooms? “Yep” … thousands later I hand those in, “oh we don’t actually know where your left side neighbor’s well is, so we can’t sign off on the new septic drawing” … hours of wasted labor later with my neighbor being kind enough for me to dig up their yard to find the well cap … “oh thanks for finding that for us so we can document, but we just realized we actually needed to know where the right side neighbor’s well was” … happy FFFFFFFFFriday!

Hmm, maybe a bull market is coming… a friend I’ve been trying to educate for years sends me this “Check out RCO Finance, get in on the presale, I bought about $115 worth this AM” …
