But I really love how appreciation is celebrated here: as some strange, abstract concept. They promise “corporate culture,” “a family-like environment,” “no hierarchies,” and “communication on equal footing.” They demand “getting things done” and “top performance.” And if someone asks whether it might be a good idea not to treat the office temperature like a trial-and-error experiment, the response is: “This isn’t a demanding environment here—we’re just web developers, after all.”

Whenever someone suggests getting a fan, a ventilator, or a portable air conditioner, or adjusting shifts, the legendary response is:
<We just have to stay focused 😘>
Yeah, right
-- I’m so focused that I’m about to melt into a single puddle of mist along with my keyboard and the debugger. 💢
For us, performance is apparently not something you enable—it’s something you squeeze out of people 🪫 until they either deliver or summer shuts them down.... 💀
sure.. my employer loves the summer.
especially because it can be used as an excuse to ignore everything else: air quality, climate, shaded areas, water fountains
— oh well, after all, we have 'motivation' 🥵
