I understand why people say “that’s not fair,” and I don’t dismiss that reaction. A person is dead, and that matters. I’m not arguing what should have happened, but how situations are interpreted in real time. Visibly armed federal agents signal a high-risk environment. When they feel outnumbered or vulnerable, responses focus on immediate control, not proportionality or hindsight. Explaining that isn’t justification. It’s describing how power actually functions, even when the outcome is tragic.
