I have the rear transaxle assembled for the golf cart. I had to put the axel tube on. Now ready to add to the cart and do rear suspension. The cart now has a lower gearing for more torque when doing work on the farm. #grownostr #golfcart #diy #homesteading image
I have a new video up on using the HarborFreight soda blaster. Talk about a tool with low expectations. Harbor Freight Soda Blaster Setup + 6 Month Update
I got the front-end suspension rebuilt on the golf cart. I took off every bolt cleaned the parts, and replaced parts. I am glad to have this done and move on to the next part. #grownostr #diy #homestead #homesteading #rebuild image
I think I am ready for reassembly of the breaks, hub, and spindle. This was an interesting tear down and clean up. Some of the dirt was hard to get off even with soda blasting it. I will go very slow on this one to learn and the next one should go faster. #diy #grownostr #golfcart #restoration #homesteading image
So I learned in kdenlive you can split up clips into sequences and then order them together on a main timeline. Such an awesome thing to learn it has really helped with this latest video to only edit in sections. I can concentrate on each part individually. Someday I’ll be good at this 😂 #diy #kdenlive #grownostr
I have part 2 of the tear down of my golf cart. This was interesting because everything was new. At least with the rear suspension it was easy to analyze and see what all it does.
I worked on getting my dad’s old parts cleaner going, it is over 40 years old. Then cleaned some grease and oil. I followed that with soda blasting and these parts are looking clean. I have a little more cleanup then I am ready to put the wheel hubs back together. I am glad with the progress made and learning I have done. #diy #golfcart #clubcar #grownostr #restoration #homestead image
I successfully diagnosed and fixed a problem with my truck with no outside input. It ended up being the tensioner pulley for the serpentine belt. So not a hard fix but I am just happy I was able to figure it out on my own. I don’t grow up learning how to fix or diagnose car issues. My parents would just get new cars every couple of years. So over the last few years I have tried to figure this stuff out myself. I still have a long way to go. #grownostr #diy
Current state of my golf cart I have been working on tearing it down to restore and make it a farm car to last the next 30+ years. It has been fun so far. #grownostr #homestead #diy image
I started a new YouTube channel for learning #rustlang https://youtube.com/@GoRust-bf8bi it is a weekly livestream on Mondays where I journey through learning rust. It has Been fun the last 3 weeks. If anyone is interested check it out. I am curious where I’ll be in learning at the end of the year.

I finally finished making my magnetic bandsaw fence. Yay for 3d printers. In my journey of getting this grizzly bandsaw back up and going. I needed a fence, so I decided to see about making a magnetic fence. It worked out great. Both magnets have 180lbs of downard force each. They are securly fastned to the powertec extruded aluminum. I did some test cutting tonight for my YouTube video and it worked great. I can't wait to finish up the bandsaw table, and put the bandsaw to work. I have some christmas presents to make. #diy #3dprint #3dprinting #woodworking #oklahoma #grownostr

I have a new video up where I tweak my new $100 dust collector and I teat the CFM to know what performance it actually gets. This is a start to more videos as I build out this dust collector. #grownostr #diy #woodworking

Worked on the heater in the camper and every time I work on the camper I wonder how these things stay together. They are so cheaply and terribly made. I got the heater working at least. In the picture you can see the water line in the back laying over the top of the heater. I feel like this is a bad idea if something goes wrong with the heater. #frustrated #grownostr #diy image

I was able to get a harbor freight dust collector for $100 on Facebook marketplace. Here is step one of the modifications I am going to do. I don’t have time to do a lot at one time so I am going to do a series of videos where I make changes and test effectiveness. First step is to switch to a single port instead of a Y. I will also say 3D Printing has changed how I look at projects and customizations. Stay tuned. #diy #woodworking #3dprinting #oklahoma #grownostr image

So I abused the crap out of my greenworks electric chainsaw and cut a part of a cedar tree into some thick slabs to make some Christmas presents. This cedar tree was cutdown over 7 years ago, and I finally decided to get it slabbed. I don’t have an Alaskan mill or anything. I just used some brain power time and got the slabs. Flat is not a thing with these so there is going to be a lot of work on the bandsaw, jointer and planer. My ultimate goal is to turn these into jewelry boxes for my daughters made from wood from the house they were born and grew up in. Now I need get a moisture meter, and make sure they are dry enough. #woodworking #diy #dowoodworking #homestead #milling #woodmilling #chainsawmill #grownostr

I finally got the 18” bandsaw running well enough to use. With the new blade guides, and new guard holder in place I was able to tune the guide and give some test cuts. Something isn’t quite right with the bandsaw, but it is an 18” and works well enough for now. With as cheap as I got it and the work to restore it will last for a while. However it will need to be replaced someday, hopefully a while away. Now to make a fence for some resawing. The 3D printer should come in handy for that. #diy #woodworking #oklahoma #bandsaw #fixingtools #grownostr image

I 3d printed a part for my bandsaw. I have had a bandsaw I have been trying to get back up and running for a couple of years now. My biggest hiccup is the guard holder. I bought a whole new bandsaw blade guide since the one on my used bandsaw was crumbling due to bad metal. Well, I have had a number of problems, but the last one was the blade guard. It wasn't built right, and I wans't sure what to do about it. Well I finally thought about it and this piece isn't critical to be metal. Just sturdy and the right size. So I took the one I had re-designed it and 3d printed a replacement, and it fixed my issue perfectly. I am so glad it fixed it the first time too. Now I can finish getting the bandsaw going agin and using it. #diy woodworking #grownostr #ftijpi image
