I tried raw milk for the first time—and here’s what I found out (from a pharmacist’s perspective): Raw milk is milk that hasn’t been pasteurized, meaning it retains all of its natural enzymes, beneficial bacteria, and fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, and K2. Some studies suggest it may support better digestion, immune tolerance, and even reduce the risk of allergies in children due to intact probiotic strains and immunoglobulins. But—there are real risks. (And hear me out on this before you get mad because there’s a solution) Raw milk can carry harmful bacteria like E. coli, Listeria, and Salmonella if it’s not handled with care. That’s why it’s banned in many states and countries. Supporters claim the benefits outweigh the risks when sourced responsibly—but sourcing is everything. If you're going to try it, look for raw milk from small, certified farms where cows are 100% grass-fed, regularly tested for pathogens, and milk is handled in ultra-clean conditions. Many farms will publish their testing results and follow strict herd health protocols. Transparency is key—if a farm won’t answer your questions, don’t buy from them 🤷‍♀️ Bottom line? It’s not a conspiracy—it’s a sourcing issue. Know your farm, understand the benefits, and choose what’s best for your body. PS it tasted great 👍
You don’t need a complicated routine to feel better—you need the fundamentals. Prioritize mineral repletion (especially magnesium, sodium, and potassium), regulate blood sugar by front-loading protein and fiber, and move your body daily to support insulin sensitivity and lower inflammation. Small habits, done consistently, are what actually change your health 🦥 image
Spotted in Manuel Antonio 👀 🦥 Sloths have this natural way of taking it easy that’s oddly reassuring… their fur grows algae, and while it might seem like just a result of their slow pace, it’s actually part of their secret. They don’t force it. They don’t rush through life, but over time, something good happens anyway—this little green ecosystem forms around them. It’s like the universe is giving them a reminder that when you move at your own pace, things start to align, even if you’re not trying to make it happen. ✨ image
If you're tired, stressed, anxious, or not sleeping—magnesium is probably the missing link. Over 300 enzyme systems rely on it, yet most people are severely deficient. Stress, caffeine, workouts, and birth control deplete it fast. And no, a healthy diet won’t fix it. Not all magnesium is equal. Here’s why a multi-magnesium complex works: Magnesium Bisglycinate – Calms the nervous system, supports sleep without drowsiness. Magnesium Malate – Boosts energy, supports muscle recovery. Magnesium Threonate – Supports cognitive function & brain health. Magnesium Taurate – Aids cardiovascular health & mood stability. Magnesium Orotate – Helps with cellular energy & DNA repair. Magnesium Citrate – Supports digestion. Great for constipation, but shouldn’t be taken alone long term unless you’re using it in a complex. Magnesium Gluconate – Bioavailable & gentle on the stomach. Magnesium Chloride – Topical, soothes muscle pain and promotes relaxation. If there’s one supplement you should be taking, it’s magnesium ✨
PEOPLE ALWAYS MAKE THIS MISTAKE WITH ASHWAGANDHA!! 👀ADAPTogens help your body ADAPT to stress- but there is a right and wrong way to use them. The most well known adaptogen is Ashwagandha- but this is a sedating adaptogen - so it should be taken in the evening time. The best type of Ashwagandha is KSM-66 (this is the clinically studied type) and you should always cycle it- take it for 4 weeks, then discontinue for 3 weeks, then continue for 4 weeks- so on and so forth 🦋
Supplements aren’t clinically studied so we can’t recommend them.” Here’s why that argument doesn’t actually make sense 👇🏼 Clinical trials cost $20–100+ million to run. That’s why they’re usually funded by pharmaceutical companies — who can: ✔️ Patent the drug ✔️ Get FDA approval ✔️ Recoup the cost (and more) through insurance + exclusivity You can’t patent a natural substance like magnesium or turmeric. So there’s no financial incentive to spend millions studying something you can’t own — even if it works. So no, the supplement industry doesn’t run billion-dollar clinical trials. Not because supplements are ineffective. But because the system isn’t designed to support research on natural compounds that can’t be monetized like Rx medications. That’s why the whole “there’s no clinical trial” argument is incomplete at best. But here’s the part that actually matters: How do you choose a high-quality supplement? ✔️ cGMP certified — means the product is made in a facility that meets FDA standards for safety, purity, and potency ✔️ Third-party tested — NSF, USP, or ConsumerLab verified ✔️ No proprietary blends — transparent dosing, nothing hidden ✔️ Clinical dosages — not just trendy ingredients sprinkled in for the label Not all supplements are created equal. But the good ones? They’re backed by real science, smart formulation, and quality manufacturing 🤗
Hi, I’m Ariana — pharmacist, functional nutrition counselor, and the creator behind Iris Supplements and @wellness.pharm.
