Ferns have been on Earth since before the dinosaurs, with the earliest dated back to the Devonian and Triassic eras. They spread via spores, which can be seen here on the back of the beautiful, delicate leaves. I love ferns for their visual symmetry and repetition, they're so elegant yet so persistent, and the way they unfurl is fascinating. #photography #nature #botany
