a dev working full time on decentralized tech with no seed funding on purpose, trying to prop up platforms worth using w/o an obligation to sharehold.
Also I had an epiphany after thinking about my return to workforce after I drop my app.
Was listening to Bankless podcast where actual engineers describe blockchain. It was really inspiring.
I'm thinking about getting into block chain/crypto. Peer to peer, dApps, and block chain are all in that decentralized space which is really exciting to me. I kinda wish I had chased some crypto startups circa 2019 but I think theres still time.
Going to have to see what the strongest contenders are. I don't want to wake up and work on things that are boring as hell. I need to align myself with the product I work on next.
I wrote my first Nim Lang code today. Holy. Shit. I've never seen code run so fast. I hit enter and I instantly saw output. And I'm talking like server client model testing. I'll be moving away from JavaScript likely after this.
"Bookshop Santa Cruz" is probably the only bookstore I've seen during my time in the valley that actually carries good tech books. They had everything from AI, data science, block chain and just new programming languages. Highly recommend them!
When I was younger I'd frequent Barnes and Nobles for tech books and pick up a book once a week or so just to learn new topics even at a cursory level. It's stunning that the heart of tech doesn't really have much of that.

Nim programming language's style insensitivity is ingenious. Finally a language that gets it.
I think its time for a replacement to Twitch to be made. One that focuses on the original energy of making livestreams cool, but decentralized without any one assclown or megacorp owning it. Same goes for video. I like LBRY but I'm tentative about the business model, and their inability to expand payment options leaves me skeptical.
I don't see a content model working long term if the user isn't paying the bill directly.
