The US appears to be attempting to distance itself from hyperbitcoinisation. In one week, proposals for a 30% tax on electricity used for mining, doubling the tax rate on large captial gains, going after crypto-friendly banks and service providers, etc. They smell smoke.

Associating total zaps directly to your profile is a personal security risk long-term. I like the feature and convenience, but relays/clients should probably work towards discarding this information beyond what's necessary to function. These numbers are small now and a fun quirk, but 10 years from now they won't be so cute.
