The #EU Commission has withdrawn the #AI Liability Directive, a law that would have simplified liability claims concerning AI and empowered citizens to fight back against discriminatory AI.
It would have made businesses lives easier, and guaranteed citizens' rights. To quote rapporteur Axel Voss: “it was never about stifling innovation — it was about ensuring accountability”
Its withdrawal benefits nobody except big tech.
