A little variation here on a single hand watch with one of the dials I completed recently. Got a canvas strap from BluShark on this one that’s as soft as a favorite pair of jeans. #watchstr #proofofwork image
Another next-level painting by a fellow artist on Nostr! I’m not a dev, but I know art talent when I see it. The art community here is truly inspiring. #artstr View quoted note →

News like this just doesn’t make headlines on tv these days, and that’s why we have Nostr, folks. To make sure stuff like this gets seen, not silenced. wait maybe that was a bad choice of words View quoted note →
My father was an accomplished watercolor artist. He passed away in 2015 and left an incredible amount of work, much of it untitled. Some of it is professionally matted and framed, some isn’t. As an artist myself, I would love for some of my dad’s paintings to find homes in the Nostr community. I’m going to be offering some of his work for sats at great discount, since his paintings were usually priced between $1000-$3000USD. Here is the first painting, it’s untitled, unframed, and is 20 x 28.5 inches. I am offering it for 200k sats plus shipping. #artstr #watercolor image
One of the first images I ever made using a computer. #artstr image
This is a good friend’s watch, handed down to her by her father. It had stopped working, even with a battery change. It needed a new movement. My friend Steve, who owns his own watch building/servicing company, was able to order a new movement, got the watch working, and even buffed the case so it looked good as new. He is the only employee of his company, and can service modern and vintage watches of any kind. He also builds custom Seiko mods from the ground up, if you’re interested in an automatic watch. He has several examples on his website. #watchstr image
One thing we have to do to make Nostr a good place to be is to make it welcoming. There are a lot of decent folks that would enjoy it here, but the world is used to having EVERYTHING handed to them with a single click. Whether its with a Galaxy or an iPhone or a laptop or desktop, there are ways for almost anyone with internet access to join Nostr. When they get here, people need to be welcomed and feel happy. If we’re condescending to people who have a different brand of phone or operating system, we’re giving them an excuse to leave. If we see somebody hasn’t set up a wallet, let’s meet that person where they are. Offer to help them set one up, step by step, or suggest a Nostr app with one that’s built in. Let’s not take for granted that we understand how Nostr works. There are a lot of cool folks out there that would enjoy it here, but it seems like too much hassle to learn.
