Trying to end funding just pushes it into darker and less transparent places. Assure me that you aren't just creating a vacuum for much worse. If you can't, there isn't much to talk about.

Many things in the US piss me off, but few things piss me off like the fact that I can pay cash for a house and still have it taken away if I don't pay a perpetual fee (basically rent) to the government. And they can still dictate pretty much every decision related to the property, basically like a landlord.
Some jurisdictions are obviously better than others, but I haven't found a single place where this isn't true to some degree and it grinds my fucking gears.
