Lol I'm stupid. Didn't even see this here as I went in looking for libbitcoin-server, which directed me to version3. This one WILL support things like Sparrow and Electrum, but it's not ready yet. Judging from how fast I'm seeing things moving on the Slack though, this is exciting. For more about WHY its so exciting, check this out: Tl;Dr you must realize the truth: there IS no UTXO set. 🀯 If nothing else having this model alongside Core (and Core derivatives such as Knots) in volume does wonders to mitigate potential DOS vectors on Bitcoin as a whole.

This insight is exactly what @Svetski's book Bushido hinges on. Bitcoin is code. It does help fix incentives, yes, but human follow through to actualize potential is what fixes things. Like any tool, it doesn't wield itself. Much like the old saying with guns, Bitcoin doesn't fix society, people with Bitcoin fix society. View quoted note β†’

GM. Even though I notice that after spending hours fighting to compile software not compatible with my system, it's now technically not morning. Happy to report that after doing a LOT of manual patching of cpp files, symlinking header files, and attempting an install of a second instance of gcc, I finally just installed a chroot of ubuntu 20.04. Only to realize that it only has boost 1.71, and boost 1.73 is required. But THEN! I manually built and installed 1.73 from scratch, and am in the process of building a portable version of bx (libbitcoin-explorer) to bring back over to my host system. Barely even noticing that the price is getting down to 85k gnag territory. Lysdexics untie!
