GM. Even though I notice that after spending hours fighting to compile software not compatible with my system, it's now technically not morning. Happy to report that after doing a LOT of manual patching of cpp files, symlinking header files, and attempting an install of a second instance of gcc, I finally just installed a chroot of ubuntu 20.04. Only to realize that it only has boost 1.71, and boost 1.73 is required. But THEN! I manually built and installed 1.73 from scratch, and am in the process of building a portable version of bx (libbitcoin-explorer) to bring back over to my host system. Barely even noticing that the price is getting down to 85k gnag territory. Lysdexics untie!

@jack mallers Any idea if Strike ever plans to implement Stop orders? Mornings like now when I'm watching the price drop make it hard to put in a market order, but risking it running away from a limit below while I take my eyes off the chart isn't great either. Even better would be a one cancels the other conditional option, with a buy stop above, and a buy limit below, but I'm not trying to get too greedy. This may not make sense given that Strike isn't really an exchange, per se, but it would be a quality of life improvement.

GM Checking out this interview with Eric Voskuil from 2020. Loving what I'm hearing about design philosophy. Very reminiscent of Unix philosophy which seems to be all but left for dead by much of the world (see: systemd). Did finally realize that libbitcoinkernel and libbitcoin are not in any way related. It's almost like someone at Core wants to stop anyone from using something other than Core, given that libbitcoin is the second oldest Bitcoin implementation in existence, and libbitcoinkernel is quite a bit newer. Even predates Knots! It does look like I'll need to find some compile flags to run a testnet node, so probably not today, but getting there.

Reading about Libbitcoin-server, I almost feel like I'm re-learning how running a node works. Especially as it took me a few wrong hits to find the tool to actually run a node you can connect a wallet to; libbitcoin-node DOESN'T have an rpc interface, nor wallet functionality. Didn't realize the project was so old though; I somehow had the impression this was a newish project, and it's clearly been around for at least 10 years. Doesn't look like it's a drop in replacement though, so I might need to go grab another 2 tb drive to spin one of these up to see if I've got a good alternative to Core or Knots. Last release was 2023, but hey, it's not abandoned, it supports taproot, and it's not run by woke shitcoiners or groupthink crusaders on a collective psychotic break, so it does seem like an improvement over the two main choices. Anway, if anyone else is wandering and looking for hope amid the madness, there are worse places to start than right here:

Made some oven baked seed oil free sesame chicken tonight. Not as crispy, but still tasty as fuck. #foodstr image

'My money's custodian' is the same as 'My wife's boyfriend.' Not your keys, not your coins.

GM @jack mallers. Two things: while podcasts do consume a lot of my time, yours have always been high signal. I'd say if you have content for a longer one, it's never something I've lamented. If it's repetition on the same exact topic, then sure, cut it shorter, but if you've actually got high signal on macro content that goes over most bitfluencers heads, don't be chained to the timetable. You and Nik Bhatia are some of the only ones out there that talk about liquidity and don't sound like they just learned about the Fed last year (aside from some prominent guests who we get signal out of depending on who's interviewing them, like Michael Howell, Luke Gromen, and Lyn Alden). Just my two sats. As for Michael Burry, sounds like you got corrected, but just to reiterate, it is indeed Burr-ee, not Barry. And I don't think you'd get that from The Big Short -- I don't recall his name actually being said in the movie. I know other characters did have names changed, such as Steve Eisman's character going as Mark Baum, or Greg Lippmann going as Jared Vennett.
