An internal Microsoft video, recorded in 2024 and recently leaked, has revealed details of an experimental project called Aion, an operating system designed to place its artificial intelligence assistant, "Copilot," at the center of the user experience.
According to the leaked material, Aion represents an exploration of a lightweight environment based on web technologies (primarily Microsoft Edge), where traditional applications run largely through cloud services such as Windows 365.
Instead of a conventional desktop with a Start menu, users would primarily interact through commands to Copilot to open applications, search for files, or browse the internet.
The system prioritizes web applications and delegates more complex tasks to remote infrastructure.

Bitcoin, despite its lack of privacy on L1, is the only L1 capable of withstanding state-sponsored attacks.
Right now, there is no alternative to Bitcoin.
My opinions may seem controversial, risky, or crazy, but they’re well thought out.
In time, you’ll come to the same conclusion.
Crazy times call for drastic solutions.
Given the lack of demand for block space, L2s don’t make sense—we need to prioritize L1. Solutions like Spark or Ark don’t make sense either, not even Lightning.
SegWit and Taproot didn’t make sense either.
All the problems we’ve faced have stemmed from trying to modify L1 with features we don’t need.
There’s nothing wrong with “ossifying” Bitcoin as long as it’s used as money.
Block demand is low, so it can be used perfectly well as money on L1.
If you need privacy, you don’t even need to use the flawed Lightning Network—there are protocols like Joinstr on the mainnet, as well as the ability to pay with CoinJoin via Wasabi and the new versions of JoinMarket.
If I were certain that Bitcoin developers were incorruptible Knights Templar, then I would be in favor of the changes, but most Bitcoin developers work for fiat—not even for Bitcoin—so they don’t have skin in the game, and like most people, they are corruptible.
Draw your own conclusions.
Bitcoin didn't need to scale or that Lightning bullshit.
Algorithmic banks like Liquid are more than enough, and if you want to build an L2, do it on top of sidechains.
Bitcoin did one thing and did it very well, and ever since then people have wanted it to do many things, and the developers are such idiots that they'll end up ruining it.
At this point, I don't give a shit about scalability (since Bitcoin will never be used by the masses of NPCs), and I don't give a shit about Lightning.
Bitcoin needs to be ossified.

After the failure of BIP-110 in August, I hope the price recovers a bit.
Right now we're putting on a downright dreadful spectacle.
One should always be aware that Bitcoin can be broken, whereas the physical laws governing gold cannot be changed by developers.
But don't let the situation fool you: after August, we'll be left with no alternative to Core.
