Without a doubt, the “don’t spend your Bitcoins” narrative has taken hold strongly. At this point, I’m not really sure what the point is of developing payment protocols like ARK or Spark, or even Lightning. Bitcoiners hammering nails into their own coffin.

I am not discussing the motivations behind BIP-110. I am discussing the strategy that was followed. - It should never have been launched when you knew your client only represented 20% of the network and had a minimal hash rate. - It should not have been presented as temporary. - At least 2 years should have been spent refining the BIP before launching it; what exists now is only a temporary patch that also breaks things. - Not telling the whole truth to the public. The overall impression is one of a complete botched job. I would say the CIA has achieved its objective. The best thing that can be done right now is to fork Knots pre-RDTS.

Luke's entire argument is based on assuming he has the support of miners and node operators. Knots nodes plateaued around 20% a long time ago; that's the maximum RTDS nodes can realistically reach. If you add 20% of the hash rate to that (which they won't achieve), all you'll get is a nice split. Current figures don't even reach 1% of the hash rate, and RTDS nodes are around 10% at best. If anyone is willing to bet a considerable amount with me, I accept the wager. Sometimes I feel like I'm alone in the world. I don't know how you can be so stupid as not to see reality.

Save this message. BIP-110 is not going to happen; there is not enough support from node operators and miners. The only thing Luke is going to achieve is seriously damaging his credibility and, worse, that of Knots. I even doubt Knots will continue after this. If you do not want your node to diverge from the main chain, use the pre-rdts version of Knots. It is sad how everything has unfolded. Core are a bunch of woke sellouts who tell lies, but Knots are reckless people who tell half-truths to manipulate. In my view, both teams are garbage. It is a shame to see manipulated narratives on both sides; from a Bitcoin development standpoint, it is at its lowest point.
