The right way to use Bitcoin: - the one that lets you avoid paying taxes The wrong way to use Bitcoin: - the one that leads you to pay taxes on it. If you have nowhere to spend Bitcoin because no one accepts it—which is where the state-sanctioned HODL narrative leads you—then you have to sell Bitcoin for fiat and end up paying taxes because tax agencies control all entry and exit points. If you have a circular economy where you can buy all the goods and services you need with Bitcoin, then you have the opportunity to avoid paying taxes, whether you’re a merchant or a buyer.

It is clear that the price of Bitcoin is being suppressed in the same way as gold. The first, and most obvious, clue was that non-physically settled Bitcoin futures would be approved even before an ETF. Just like gold, the price of Bitcoin will only rise when there is a significant imbalance between supply and demand; in the meantime, the price will be suppressed time and time again. If the price of Bitcoin rises too much, no one will want fiat currency; the same is true for gold, which took decades to rise as nations like China accumulated gold nonstop. This also debunks the HODL narrative; many will be disappointed by the price in the coming years. The solution? Use Bitcoin as a currency; that is what will most encourage its use and create an imbalance between supply and demand. View quoted note →

HodlHodl is a KYC service; they collect your location, your IP address, and all your browser metadata, and store this information for the number of years required by law. In the event of a dispute, they can freeze your funds and ask you for your ID; they may also suspect you of money laundering or fraud and freeze your funds. Non-KYC services include Robosats and Bisq. There is nothing in the world that pisses me off more than lies.

This is a fucking joke 😂 If you have to rely on others to delete their Lightning node history in order to gain privacy… View quoted note →

add DeleteForwardingHistory to selectively purge old forwarding history Routing nodes and LSPs accumulate forwarding history over time which, if compromised or subpoenaed, could reveal sensitive information about payment flows. Prior to this change, the only way to purge old forwarding history was to reset the database and restore from backup — a disruptive operation with significant operational risk. This PR adds a DeleteForwardingHistory RPC to the Router sub-server that allows operators to permanently delete forwarding events older than a specified time threshold, without any node downtime.

What a weird way to use Bitcoin. Instead of hodlhodl, you should call yourself fedhodl or stablehodl. Besides, it’s really wrong to market yourself as “no KYC” when, by law, you’re required to keep records and hand them over to the authorities. Nokyc is Robosats or Bisq. View quoted note →

What philosophical rants I go on. It’s because my wife doesn’t pay attention to me. I feel like Fidel Castro talking to himself in those 6-hour rallies he used to give where no one listened to him.
