I am 37
I am nowhere near the finished product
Good reminder: it’s ok to make mistakes
Keep learning
Make failure your friend
Onwards
Tomorrow I am excited to have @rev.hodl join the podcast
We’re going to talk about the different forms of capital
Any questions for him? I’ll make sure to drop them in
Idea:
- an Australian private equity fund
- focused on buying well priced SME companies with a boomer-founder looking for liquidity
- which then specialises at inputting AI and Bitcoin into the business
If you want to be generating $1 million revenue per annum 18 months from now, how would you do it?
If you were going to focus on generating revenue right now, how would you figure out what to do?
Must admit, todays been hard
Bitcoin pulling back like this right now wasn’t part of the script
HODLing is not easy
Doubt creeps in
- Will it rise again?
- Was I wrong to make those financial commitments?
- Do I need to start hunting for a job?
35% draw down on your largest asset allocation is going to effect anyone
Spending habits will have to change
Plans altered
I was stressed, so I did a 10 minute power meditation, which I love
Pop the alarm on
See where it takes you
The message I got: hold steady, don’t get shaken out, observe the fear, don’t ignore the doubt, but recognise them as emotions, the fundamentals are still true, digital scarcity is a once-in-a-generation discovery
When doing new things, the playing field isn’t always clear
It’s why I like “time in the market is more valuable than timing the market”
If you’re setup to weather the storm, not over-exposed to expenses, or debt-laden, then it’s an easier process
What a ride
A constant process of iteration
Tomorrow I will do better
We go again
💪🏻
Every person's journey to Bitcoin is unique
A combination of experiences that only they had
That all combine together to help see value where most can't
"It's not about finding Bitcoin and then you're rich. It's just a slow mental shift where you're not constantly worried and stressed about money."
@Alex Glasse
Episode out this coming Friday
The reality of doing a renovation on a house kicked in hard this evening
To actually do all the cool stuff you envisioned is possible
It just comes at a price
Both time and money
Was just quoted 3.5x more than I was budgeting for
😅
Back to the drawing board
Pleased to have @Dan Ostermayer joining the podcast tomorrow night
We're going to dig into Germ Theory vs Terrain Theory
Any questions for him friends?
What happens with AI when the technology moat is eroded?

This morning was Monday morning, and I must say, it was glorious :
- woke up
- fed the kids
- argued with the kids
- shouted at one or two of them
- got all of us to the coffee shop
- had a lovely 20 minutes
- chatted to a 60 year old with kids but no grandkids yet, “Jake, the mayhem, just remember, you’ll really miss it one day” (one child was up a tree, one had just spilt its babychino everywhere, and the other was arguing with the dog)
- whole fam went for a walk along the beach path with scooters
- hit the playground
- home by 10 to get organised for the babysitter
- started cooking lunch
- went to the gym
And boom, that was my morning. No rushing to work for someone. No forcing children into school uniform. No classic Monday blues day at a desk
Yes there were some road bumps, but I was parenting, husbanding, and got some self-care in, all on my own time
Amazing
Which helps me understand more and more that wealth = time
I don’t care what anyone wants (accept my wife and kids)
I am walking to the beat of my own drum, going with the flow, allowing things to open up
Why share this?
Well 1) to reflect and be grateful, and 2) to hammer home the beauty of sound money
Being able to save in Bitcoin gives me my time back
Financial capital problems covered
Like magic
Even with a 35% draw down
But volatility I’d take everyday of the week over illiquidity or counter party risk
Feeling blessed
Cheers to taking Mondays back
💪🏻
