“Do unto others and be done unto by them only by mutual agreement, keeping in mind how it will affect others” - The Bitcoin Rule.
The average person takes it for granted, but isn’t it mind bending to ponder on the possibilities of alternative universes & different worlds that can exist within a computer🤗
The combination of anonymity and free speech is an underrated empowering feature of the internet. image
Journal Entry 2025/12/13 I’ve become the ‘successful’ single male in his midlife crisis that adds posh pets to his grocery list to spoil his neighbors cats. There is a difference between being alone and loneliness. image
Decided not to take myself so seriously and spoil my cognition this December with some science fiction 🙌 image
Journal Entry — 2025/12/13 Despite the constant rejection, I still dig deep: -wake up before sunrise -study and read -listen to people smarter than me -exercise -brush my teeth -work The discipline is non-negotiable… but I can feel the cost. This constant grind is slowly stripping away my empathy, compassion, and patience for those who can’t or won’t do the same.
Industry now leads academia in the digital age. Where universities once shaped talent and set the pace, industry has taken over that role. Today, it’s the people who use their knowledge to build real products, ship them, and deploy them into the world who gain the true competitive edge. The gap between academia and industry will only widen. Academic curricula move slowly by nature; technology evolves too fast for institutions to keep up.
“We should continually be striving to transform every art into a science. And in the process, we advance the art.” - Prof Donald Knuth
No. Life is short but Eternity is long. Existence is too short for half filled cups. ❤️‍🔥 image
To practice agency in one’s freedom & forge a meaningful path through hardship is the most noble way for Individual character to develop virtuous traits…not ‘free’ stuff.
Resources a society chooses to allocate toward the public good should 1st serve to strengthen the virtues of the common man.Zoom out & observe modern life: virtue is suffocating under the weight of failed public goods spewed out by rotting legacy institutions .
Anon, there will always be a portion of society that falls behind in using the technological tools at their disposal to their full potential not because the tools are lacking, but because the virtues required to use them well are absent. A simple example? The toothbrush…
The degree itself isn’t the prize; it’s never been the prize. The real reward is who you become while you’re earning it through the late nights, the failures you survive, the thinking muscle you build and the person you turn into along the way. The timeless human experience of belonging to a circle of open-minded thinkers where disagreement, debate, and the forging of ideas thrive will never expire. True freedom of speech and the wholehearted sharing of intellect will always be the lifeblood of human progress.🫶
‘Of course God plays dice with the universe. Dice have proven to be a useful tool for introducing randomness into mathematical algorithms.’ -Prof Donald Knuth on The Lex Fridman podcast, recipient of the 1974 Turing Award & author of ‘The Art of Computer Programming.’
Journal Entry 2025/12/10 I’m learning to sit with confusion, to keep chipping away even when nothing feels clear. I’m building grit, patience & stubbornness. It’s all part of training the mind to rewire itself & acquire the virtues to tackle the hard problems.
Seeing your forecast unfold in real time isn’t loud triumph; it’s a private, almost eerie calm. No fist pumps, no “I told you so,” or dopamine from likes; just a slow exhale and the faintest smirk when reality finally lines up with the mental model you’ve been carrying alone for months. It’s the purest form of self-trust: your reasoning, pattern recognition, and nerve held up when almost everyone else was looking the wrong direction. Quietest flex there is, but it rewires you a little every time it happens.
Anon, many in Bitcoin excited when the suits arrived. I am excited because the lab coats are arriving. We are not the same breed of Pleb.
Beautiful how the art of writing a mathematical proof aligns with the engineering of code. An elegant parallel in intellectual work. Page taken from “AI Engineering” by Chip Huyen image
