I’m maniacally optimistic. No time for pessimism. Zoom out. The Fed was created in 1913, enforcing fraud as the foundation of the 20th century. Bitcoin was launched in 2009, imposing truth as the foundation for the 21st century. We were born into a dumpster fire. Our children and grandchildren will be born into truth, hope, and abundance. Be bullish.

“Gold and Bitcoin” annoys me. Fiat: Life gets harder. Gold: Life stays the same. Bitcoin: Life gets better. Money converges to one and only Bitcoin can conquer the era of A.I. and a sovereign debt crisis. Lower your time preference, forget the shiny rock, and ape it all into Bitcoin.

GM Nostr, "Life can be tough, sometimes that's the way it goes. But you gotta remember, sometimes it goes the other way too." Brandon flowers of The Killers said that right before their Mr. Brightside encore at Madison Square Garden in January 2018. I was at that show with my brother. I lived in NYC at the time and my brother flew in to see that show with me. It was a blizzard that day. His flight was super delayed but he hightailed it straight from LaGuardia, met me at the venue, and we got to our seats just as the house lights went down. That’s a very special memory. Because a few years later I lost my brother to a fentanyl overdose. That turned my world upside down. He was one of a kind and I miss him every day. But I would have never expected what followed. 10 months later I found Bitcoin. 10 months after that I married my wife. I’ve grown closer to Christ. I share this to say that when life gets hard we have to keep showing up and putting our best foot forward. Even when it seems futile. Life was very challenging there for a bit, but now when I look back and zoom out, that quote keeps coming to mind. "Life can be tough, sometimes that's the way it goes. But you gotta remember, sometimes it goes the other way too." I hope this message finds everyone who needs to hear it. Because it’s meant a lot to me.

GM Nostr, Every morning I go for a run at dawn and part of that run is next to a massive 8-lane expressway downtown in a US city. Above this freeway, there’s a double-sided LED billboard. One side is a regional bank slinging 3.5% high yield savings as the path to financial freedom. The other side is a lottery jackpot ticker advertising how you can instantly buy tickets on your phone. These billboards haven’t changed in TWO YEARS. Every morning as the night fades away, they glare down in soulless fluorescent lighting with their message of despair. Oppressed on the people driving to their 9-5 fiat grind in dire need of hope. The tragic irony is undeniable. This billboard presents two paths, neither of which are hope. So why am I sharing this? Because we know it doesn’t have to be this way. That there is a third path offering rational optimism. Bitcoin. We have to keep spreading the truth of Bitcoin. A message of hope that people desperately need. It’s a lot of work. But it is worth it. h/t @HODL for the “rational optimism” framing

I believe Bitcoin’s most powerful feature is that it gives the individual a binary choice this fourth turning. Option 1: Your entire existence will be at the permission of the state; confined within the walls of a digital prison so that your resistance to their authority is no longer a human problem, but a software problem. Your dissent will be quashed on demand by removing your ability to speak, transact or store value for yourself with the click of a button. Option 2: You adopt Bitcoin in a self-sovereign way and peacefully declare that you will not participate in their tyranny. You understand that whoever controls the money, controls the population. And you control your private keys, so you cannot be controlled. Once you’ve made this binary choice, every downstream action you take will either be in service of a permanent global digital panopticon OR freedom and abundance for the individual. Each individual that chooses self-sovereignty meaningfully helps deter the tyrannical dystopia that is lurking around the corner. #Bitcoin #Nostr
