Got my miner PIV system installed today. Currently in MVP test mode with it but getting good results so far. Output is 20C at 35% humidity with the S9 running at 270w. Only bummer is how terrible the s9 efficiency is, still better than using electric to heat for no sats at all!

Testing out the loft PIV system. Good results so far, miner running at 250w, getting a +8C temp boost.
Next step is fitting it all together in the loft.
(New carpet is lots of steps away sadly)
A belated Happy New Year nostr! I’m starting off the year with a heat punk experiment, attempting a DIY positive input ventilation system with an S9 for heating.
If you haven’t heard of PIV systems before, it’s basically a fan blowing air from the loft into the house creating positive pressure. In theory this helps reduce damp issues in old houses by reversing drafts and reducing humidity.
The water heating project with the S19 is on the back burner while I find a heating engineer
Been thinking about making a miner positive input ventilation system. My house is an old Welsh farmhouse which costs a fortune to heat and is still damp and cold. Anybody had any experience with PIVs? Do they actually work or just add to your heating/leccy bill?
YouTube how to videos never show you the bit where you undo the radiator valve and dirty water pisses up the wall. Managed to get the valve changed tho, hopefully that fixes the cold rad.
Plumber was supposed to turn up today but in the Socialist Republic of Britain nothing works as it should.
It’s amazing how lucky we are in the UK, you can pay £15k for solar pv and a battery and you’ll be privileged enough to pay the same for electricity as you did all those years ago in 2021
My cat loves bringing home gifts, when she had kittens she went crazy with it bringing multiple dead animals a day into the house. So I splashed out on a smart cat flap that locks her out! #catstr
Man, I just realised the 2am-5am tariff I’m on is actually 17p/kwh not the 10p/kwh I thought. That makes the idea of using the s19 to dump heat into a buffer tank near break even. That’s what you get with the most expensive leccy in the world I guess!
gm, has anybody bought anything from Zeus Mining (zeusbtc.com)? I need to get an S19 hydro conversion kit for my heating system project #asknostr #heatpunks
It’s funny how similar heat pump systems are to adding a bitcoin miner to your heating loop - at least I think adding a buffer tank is the way to go for me, still researching… #heatpunks
